Game 11: Packers at Lions - 11/23/23 - 11:30 - FOX

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Wed Nov 22, 2023 1:43 pm

Lions played crappy last week. They have 1 win against teams with a winning record. Packers have no wins against teams with a winning record. Packers will be missing a bunch of guys, which sucks because I'd like to see if any progress has been made since we last faced them. But I don't see this one being close.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

The Lions offense is legit and will likely tear up our defense, even if Barry somehow comes up with a good gameplan. Their Oline is one of the best in the NFL and our secondary is down several starters still. On the flip side their secondary has been trash lately, but they still have a great pass rush. I think our offense will have some success but I doubt it's able to keep up with theirs. I think experience also plays a role here as I believe on most Thursday games teams cut their playbook nearly in half since there is so little practice time during the week and I think more experienced teams can handle that better. In the end I think Detroit blows us out something like 34-17

The injuries are a huge issue and this is probably a loss at least 80% of the time, but if they literally look like a college team again in game #2 against the Lions, that's going to be cause for serious concern. I know the draft pick is a priority, but we still need to see some signs of progress. Otherwise we're just hoping for slightly better picks next spring at the expense of finding out that too many of our recent picks are probably JAGs, which is not a good trade-off.
Wut we've got here is... faaailure... to communakate.

MD: You might find a side bet somewhere on who gains a hundred yards first - St. Brown, Gibbs or Montgomery

"signs of progress" are indeed important but hard to judge if we're missing a bunch of guys and Detroit is healthy. Musgrave is on IR, we elevated Bo Melton. Henry Pearson called up, he may have some TE duties if Deguara also can't go. Maybe Dillon plays but he's hobbled with a groin. Very hard to draw any conclusions in this one.

No reed designation, so that's good at least.

That madden patch on the jerseys is sick I love that. I hope they actually add it to Madden 24.

This is an ACL tear field turf I’d almost rather rest everybody today than risk somebody’s health the remainder of the year and into next.
