He alrady figured out the secondary. By putting a little trust finally into Kearse, he now has a gigantic secondary player he can fall back on whenever he notices Rhodes or whoever having a bad game. This secondary is still deep. If the coach gets on them to press more again and stop playing with soft gaping holes of space in front of them it will be fine.

More specifically, I do think they have maybe screwed up a little by having the safety come up to the line to early and give away the idea they might blitz with him. They think that is scaring the offense and then they have the safety backpedal 40 yards at the last second. All it really does is wipe out the safeties by mid game. If I was the opposing offense I would plan to throw deep every time they show that safety blitz early. Who cares if they get back in time early in games. By the 2nd quarter the safeties have jello legs and are sucking wind through a straw.

I would be more concerned that the coaches drum up a new reason to double down on conservative play like they usually do late in the season. This time they have all this time to think about it.

woop there it is. The old Smith threatoning to blitz and the QB takes advantage in the late game when they no longer have the energy to get back on those. Old Rocky Rhodes is just old I guess.

The conservative gameplan just doesn't cut it. Announcer says he asked Cousins whether he thinks about pushing downfield more and Cousins just says that's a constant struggle with the OC (OC = the same as every guy running offense since Childress)

The old heavy on the screens and run to setup passes later offense just standing by watching the game slip out of range. Now way behind, they are all of a sudden going to ask the QB and other players to change into some kind of passing offense with timing on a dime. Good luck. This team never changes. Going to need too much perfection now, 3 scores in the 4th.

Seahawks know how to twist the dagger once it's in.

thought all was lost there but credit to the team for continuing to fight and make a game of it

Credit to the players for bothering to attempt to score 3 times in the fourth.

I would have walked out on that coach 8 games ago. How many times do they have to attempt to do come backs like this that require perfection and they either get the win or just fall short? Scoring 14-21 in a quarter. What is wrong with playing like that all the time? Why the screentastic backwards wonderball in the second and third? The answer will never come because not enough will ever demand it. They will just praise the team for making it a close loss in the end. The only reason they ever had a lead in this game was because of a defensive play.

rush defense was disappointing

apprently dalvin says he'll play next week. also sounds like there is a lot of pain, so we'll see i guess (and how effective he can be). i'd rather him not risk further injury if another week or two will improve things a lot. mattison did a good job in relief

9-4, have to win next week against the Chargers before a couple tough division games.

Have to win out to have a chance now. Games against the Bears and Pack left. Can't drop those without dire consequences.

Good on them for finally arriving to a Detroit game to play from the start. 30 pass to 39 runs, decent enough mix, good average on throws.

Mattison high jump play highlight looked nice. 3.4 and 3.2 average from backs is a little low.

Sendejo seems to have brought back the ball hawk defense a ltitle.

Didn't watch. Where is Thielen? Still nursing his ham?

We only have to win out to win the division, 11-5 probably makes the playoffs. I would have thought 10-6, but the Rams won tonight.

sounds like thielen is going to give it a go this week, hopefully he's effective and doesn't re-aggravate it
