We trade one spot with the Chiefs and they land Suamataia at 63? Brutal.

Could have taken a guard that would have been a good fit, instead we reach for a CB

And they went CB after all the elite CBs were there to pick in the 1st, then moved back to lose out on a 1st round mocked OL. OK.

Not loving what we’re doing here. We have a bit of a rep for organizational arrogance, and this going off the board stuff is often associated with that very same quality. I think maybe we wanted Rosengarten…some mocks terrified me by mocking him to us at 31. Either way, here we are again pretending like our obvious big weakness is something we’ll just think our way past.

not sure what people don't understand about this team being very specific about its OL, Kingsley is not that guy for us lol

Quality and value at CB was there at 31, and they reach for a WR.

Then trade back a spot and reach for a CB at 64, with decent OL value on the board

Renardo Green sure doesn't seem to have much ball skills to speak of, crazily it seems like this regime doesn't value ball skills in the CB's like at all.

Now + ball skills aren't a requirement to be a quality CB, coverage ability is the number one thing needed. I just hope Green isn't another Ahkello Witherspoon type that can stay with and cover receivers well and maintains good positioning, but is just oblivious to where the ball is.

We'll see.

I’m guessing that if it’s our obvious need and we have a narrow type, the onus is on us to use our picks to move up and get the guys that are our type rather than sit back and stay picky and watch our OL tank another run for us.

Noles fan here, and he’s a pretty good player but I think he’ll need protection over the top which therefore doesn’t really give us anything we don’t already have. Again, it’s not like he was projected to go in the 5th, pretty much all mocks I saw has him mid-3rd to 4th, but it’s another reach for a team with a track record of inexplicable reaches that don’t pay off.

Green led the ACC with 14 passes defensed last season. He's physical and plays the run well. He projects as primarily a slot corner which means Lenoir is moving outside.

Some people take rankings from guys who have never been in the league a little too seriously. Every team values guys differently, we needed a CB and now people are upset we "reached" for him and didn't get an OL with this pick. No matter who we draft at OL this year, Kyle has his starting OL. It sucks but it is what it is

Agree. Seems that its either a) Lynch didn't watch the Super Bowl where it was apparent that our OL couldn't match up with the Chiefs DL or b) Lynch saw it and heard about it but believes he knows much more than the others who watched it. My guess is that b) is more likely.

I was hoping we would have moved up to get Fisher or Rosengarten.

PBU's can be deceiving. For instance, You can get credited with one if the receiver bobbles the ball at the initial catch point, then the DB gets a hand or body on it any point after that.

Green has 1 career INT in 52 games played. Sure seems like he's not a ballhawk.

Also read that he gave up several TD's on fade routes, which means he's not finding/playing the ball.

I don't hate the pick, just not particularly thrilled about it. Although it should mean the end of Ambry Thomas getting meaningful snaps, which should be a HGUGE +
