Roster Cutdown Day, 4 pm ET deadline

Who will make the final 53?

Of note, Maurice Hurst is most likely to be kept on the 53 then immediately placed on IR. So either somebody they cut today will be back very soon, or they make a waiver claim on someone from the outside

Wasn't anticipating a trade at the LB position, but cool they were able to get a little value out of someone they were likely going to cut.

It's a worthwhile move. They're pretty deep in terms of solid backups at the LB position. Hilliard looked alright during the preseason, and Flannigan-Fowles also had his moments. Especially if they want room for Harris at LB, there are only so many guys they can keep at that position.

Barely into the cuts and already a few surprises. I figured both Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and MyCole Pruitt had a solid shot at making the roster. I'd imagine one or both will return to the PS.

I can't figure Clinton-Dix. He was a disappointment as a first rounder, maybe, but he's always made plays when he's had the chance. Hard to believe he's not one of the best 128 or so safeties in the NFL.

I'm glad Kyle didn't bring Nick back. Now just gotta hope they don't keep Sudfeld on the 53

Yeah cutting Ha ha is a bit of a surprise. Unlike most of the DB's he actually seems to have a nose to find and play the ball.

I'm not making any allegations as I really have no idea, but perhaps Dix isn't the best locker room presence which might explain why he's on the verge of washing out of the league.

Dazz was one of the guys I would have liked in the later rounds. I'm surprised Chicago cut him.

Not sure 9ers can fit him in, if they are keeping Hurd. But i'd like the move.

I'd be pretty surprised if he clears waivers and the Bears can sneak him onto their practice squad.

Not a shock.

Releasing Benjamin probably helps Mitchell's chances at making the 53 due to special teams.

Looking like Hurd and Jennings will both make the roster.

It would appear so.

At this point I doubt they will cut Hurd, but I'd waive Jennings to claim Dazz Newsome. Although, I don't know where their waiver priority currently sits, so I could see someone with higher priority getting Dazz.

I've got to think one of the TEs will come back on the roster after they've moved one or two guys to short-term IR, but we'll see.

You're probably right. They might also have their eyes on claiming a TE

Yeah, that is why they drafted him. However, he's yet to actually translate any of that into something tangible.

Let's hope that draft pick finally starts to bear fruit
