Chris Gray To Resign With Seattle

Post#1 » by Sweezo » Fri Apr 6, 2007 12:50 am

According to Sando's Blog, Chris Gray has agreed to come back to the 'Hawks for two more years.

Curious. All along, it has sounded like Gray still viewed himself as a starter and wasn't sure he wanted to come back and not start. He seemed lose a step last year, and if the team views Gray as Plan A and Womack for Plan B for the starting right guard slot, I think they've made a terrible mistake.

If this is a depth signing, it's not bad. If it's an attempt to maintain continuity amongst the front five, it's terrible.

I'm surprised Cooper Carlisle's name hasn't come up again. He was priority #2 when it came to offensive linemen for Seattle, then after visiting Seattle I haven't heard his name linked to any other teams or anything else. Is he clinging to an exorbitant asking price long after the market has been set? Was the team not impressed during the interview process? Are they waiting til they closer to the draft?
