GAME #75: LAC (46-27) @ SACS (43-31)—TUE 4/2 7 PM

8 games left.

After a 3-7 start, the Clips are 43-20 since the first win of the Harden era--.685, which would translate to a 56-26 season. [The franchise record is 57 wins in 2012-13.]

.685 would have put them in the hunt for the top seed.

    OKC 52-22 .702
    DEN 51-22 .695
    MIN 51-23 .689

All is not lost, but every game counts.

Big game tonight, we need the tie breaker and to keep putting distance from the pack below us. Keep beating over .500 teams will help confidence going into the playoffs. Let's go Clips!

While we certainly didn't go gangbusters, we did just go 10-7 in an insane month of 17 games with a lot of travel. It felt worse, and there were a couple of bad beats in there that could have landed us at 12-5 even. Yes most all of the wins were against bad teams but that's how it is for the most part anyway. We emerged healthy too and playing better coming out of the month than going in.

Also, Mavs at Warriors tonight. We have 2 games on the Mavs and the tiebreaker.

Must Win Season Series

Posted: Tue Apr 2, 2024 5:55 pm
by Wammy Giveaway
Clippers have already defeated Kings twice this season. Kings are trying to fight for a playoff spot, and since they can't get the season series, the least they can do is tie it.

I propose a season series win, go for three, and here's why: most of the Clipper's 1st round playoff opponents have been against teams they tied the season series with: Warriors in 2013-14, Spurs in 2014-15, and Suns last season. If Clippers lose to Kings, odds are Sacramento could be their 1st round opponent. A much easier opponent, yes, with Malik Monk and Kevin Huerter out for the rest of the season, but that doesn't mean they should take their chances. History shows us Clippers are more likely to get eliminated from the 1st round by a team they've won a season series against (Grizzlies in 2012-13, Blazers in 2015-16, Jazz in 2016-17).

"It is important to remember the past" - Josh Ackland, The Mighty Ducks

Or a much better quote...

"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it" - George Santayana

Forget the Pacific Division. The stakes are higher than ever. George could be taken away from Clippers. Harden can follow suit. Westbrook may leave on account of a hypothetical fallout. The new arena with just Leonard and a bunch of role players could be a failure, prompting a massive fire sale and rebuild. If the Clippers want to keep this super team, they have to win out. Defeat the Kings to take the season series.

Besides, the world wants Clippers-Mavericks III. Clippers should too. I'll explain why when we get to it.

Kawhi going out on a knee injury is not good news for us. I'm preparing myself for playoffs without Kawhi.

If he misses Thursday too I’ll start to get nervous.

For now it appears they’re buying him some rest before the last stretch of the season. 3 days off would do him wonders.

Would like to see Harden scores 20+ tonight. Feels like it's been a while.

Only down 5 after a disastrous start to the 2nd quarter. PG and Norm need more help on scoring.

This team is so pathetic whenever Kawhi's out. PG and Harden both want to be paid like superstars without ever performing like one when there's even the slightest bit of adversity.

Harden is already in playoff form.

Without Kawhi this team is ass.
