AirP. wrote:Right, but I'm also taking in consideration the type of game he plays which is bully ball for a SF, during the regular season he's scoring 20 a game without high effort. I do see him as a smaller LeBron type player with his type of game.

The problem with looking at one player and trying to predict their longevity at the end is personal bias. It's more likely that Jimmy will follow the same general trajectory as 99% of players rather than that of Lebron. It just is. First of all Jimmy is not now nor has he ever been Lebron. He was never as good, he was never that kind of genetic freak, he doesn't appear to have the same sort of (alleged) pharma connections, and he historically hasn't been as durable as Lebron.

Lebron is Lebron. One of the all-time greats and an outlier in comparison to pretty much everyone.

And frankly if you look at Lebron's stats, age 34 hit him too. If you look at games played, minutes played, and total points, there's a very noticeable before and after effect.

I've been pretty consistent for years now with this so we'll see, me and you were arguing about this almost 2 1/2 years ago. We'll probably be talking about it next year and beyond unless there's a major injury.
In 2021

It's like a carbon copy. And apparently I lean pretty heavily on "it just is".

Yes please. Gives Philly a big expiring and an extra 1st to trade to bolster their roster and gives us an elite offensive talent we’re lacking

Yeah lets trade first round picks for washed up old dudes. The complain our assets were mismanaged when we don't have enough to get the next shiny toy that is available.

I'd rather keep the pick and the expiring contract.

I’ll take an all star averaging and efficient 21-6-11 last year as a 2nd/3rd option for a 1st and Lowry over wasting another year of Jimmy. Get some actual talent on this team.

Pretty much got the exact same thing in Kyle Lowry 2 years ago. Gave Goran and Precious. How did that turn out? Two years later wondering why we don't have assets.

We should be desperate, this front office should be desperate to put talent around Jimmy and Bam considering Jimmys age and how close we’ve gotten.

It’s not being desperate or this “sure but only at my price and I’m not budging” type of approach that won’t accomplish the final goal. The goal Jimmy preaches literally daily.

Offense would be improved but defense would be something to see lol.

The tape looks bad on his D, but statistically Harden gets a bunch of rebounds. He doesn't take charges. He doesn't get many steals or blocks. Career DRTG = 108. Last season = 113 and 14 steals in the Boston series. That's pretty good, tbh.

I can't imagine a worse culture fit.

Lowry year before the Heat
34yo, 17.2ppg, 7.3ast, 5.4reb, 0.546eFG%

Harden last year
33yo, 21.0ppg, 10.7ast, 6.1reb, 0.536eFG%

That is not far superior lol.

Harden can be our Dennis Rodman (counterculture menace).

I’m coming around to it, ngl.

Knew you would, Bish.

Honestly, I'd trust Spo to make the defense work. Obviously Herro and Harden is not what you want defensively, but we would have Richardson and Martin off the bench that can defend at a high level and can sub in when stops are needed. Bam covers for a lot of defensive issues, as does Jimmy.

We’re likely not getting Harden, but he’s not the same player as Lowry. From numbers or on the basis of how they get their points

One is a top 30 player at worst and other top 50 at best

Bam would be the best lob threat he's had since Capela tbh.

Imagine the FT contests with Jimmy and Harden on the same side too

Doubt it happens though. Philly won't deal him here and strengthen a conference rival.
