2017/2018 Red Wings game thread and around The NHL

I will update this as much as I can, will at minimum to a weekly recap for The Wings.
Right now I am surprised how good Howard has been, he's tied for second in the league for GAA (Goals Against Average) and I think 3rd in save percentage among goalies who have played 3+ games. Martin Frk is playing like he wants a top 3 line spot and is making it easier to forget we don't have Athanasiou, reports suggest that Montreal, Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay and Ottawa are all in line to trade for him.
The main guy that has surprised me the most in Mike Green, he has 8 assists and is in a 5 way tie for first in total points with 8 and is tied for the league lead in assists. Not too bad for a guy most wanted run out of Detroit, I still say we need a rebuild and to dump the bad contracts (Franzen, Ericcson and possibly Kronwall) that is too much money tied up in older veterans who aren't part of the team anymore.
