O'Byrne and Kostopoulos arrested in Tampa.

TAMPA, Fla. -- Police said two Montreal Canadiens players have been arrested outside a Tampa nightclub.




Defenseman Ryan O'Byrne, 23, has been accused of stealing a woman's purse, and 29-year-old right wing Tom Kostopoulos has been charged with resisting an officer, a Tampa police report says.



O'Byrne has been charged with felony grand theft. He was released Monday after posting $2,000 bail. Kostopoulos faces a misdemeanor count of resisting an officer without violence and was freed after posting $500 bail.

What was O'Bryne thinking? Stealing someones purse?

yeah I was wondering about this. Seems a little fishy they'd do that... probably just drunk and being stupid.

Apparently they were hammered, and O'byrne claimed the purse was his girlfriends, but wouldn't tell the cop her name (the cop had her ID).


Seems pretty stupid, and I don't care too much. He's young, and is doing stupid stuff, no different then all of us.

Either way its all a result of getting hammered lol. Which is what I figured as soon as I heard it.
