It will be absolutely hilarious if Garza-Miller-Minott-Moore will destroy opponents in every single gleague game. Garza averaged 31ppg, 11rpg and 4 apg on 65/44/70. I would love to see more focus on rebounding and facilitating. Let him grow as fiveout big, run multiple DHO, split actions through him. I know that the main goal is development and not only Garza development. But I want to see this group dominate in gleague so bad.

One of the weird things about Garza is that he grew up watching tape of big men from 1960-1990, so he has all these great moves (except Kareem’s sky hook which he’s working on) that were so successful in the 1960-90’s. He added the three point shot and does very well with it, but most of the extra basketball skills we’ve seen from modern big men in the last five years are things Luka didn’t grow up doing.

Now, it’s fun when he does some 1980 spin move on a young defender who has only seen modern big men, and Luka gets a wide open shot. There is value to zigging when everyone else zags, and it gives Coach Finch options. But he will have to improve some of those modern big skills to play in the modern NBA. I believed it when he said he played a lot like Vucevic, but I was happy to hear he’s watching Jokic to get better.

One more Garza hype piece for good measure!

The guy has the chiselled jawline of a Greek god.

He's the physical representation of that Giga-Chad meme.

Luka should have played the Juancho part in that basketball movie Ant was in.

People keep underestimating him, and he just keeps working harder.
If we didn't already have Naz as a microwave offensive big off the bench, I think Luka would be ready to step into that role this year.
It's just going to be hard for him with all of our big man depth.

The NBA TV announcers are talking about how much Luka looks like Wally too

Nope. You're not crazy. There is a resemblance. Wally was a little more matinee idol like though. I met Wally several times and he was one of the nicest guys you'd ever meet. He loved it here even though he wasn't treated the best.

The Wolves never really used Wally right either. He didn't get enough looks.

I'm lovin Luka!

Ha! That's a good one. I had forgot about that brief chapter. He was OK though.

I'm watching the Wolves Knicks game with the Knicks announcers. They just called Luka "Wally's Twin". I guess I wasn't crazy at least in this one instance.

Is it possible that Luka is the equivalent of Crash Davis? Kevin Costner's long time minor league baseball player in the movie Bull Durham. Could Luka set the all time G League points record? I've never seen any stats on this, but he has to be in that realm.

I found the G League career stats and Luka isn't yet anywhere close to being the record holder. For his sake I hope most of the rest of his career is in the NBA and he doesn't get a chance at the G League records. Some guy named Renaldo Major dominates.
