Prefer this style of coaching so much. 0 goals allowed so far despite Scrivens looking like a hot mess. Good sign for D

Nice win. It's only Montreal but I liked how they looked defensively. They looked more active, cut off passing lanes, sticks were active. Only one time in the game do I remember them being pinned in their zone for an extended period unable to get the puck out. This was happening all the time under Wilson. And even that time that it happened, Montreal didn't get a good scoring chance.

I also liked the way Kadri played last night. One of his best games in the NHL. Scrivens was a bit shaky controlling the puck.

Kadri's a roller coaster. Dare I say... stupid? He'll fit right in with Dion and Franson. Loved that hit on Markov, that may have been a hair late.

Is Komorov is JFJ draft pick?

Leafs celebrated their win by giving up serious coin to Lupul.

Wow, wasn't expecting that Lupul deal.

Last night, I agree with Mufasa, Scrivens looked terrible. Those rebounds.

Looks like Fraser/Holzer will replace Komisarek/Franson in the lineup tonight. Scrivens will get the start again from the sounds of it.

I kinda like this. Swapping these guys back and forth 2 at a time keeps both pairs rust-free, motivated, and fresh. The truth will eventually come out in the wash...

2 more guys in mid-season form after playing Marlies hockey, btw...

( I do think Franson must eventually be given a regular spot though.... )

Im with you. Franson needs a regular spot right away, imo. Just because I see him as a player with more potential than Fraser and Holzer.

I thought we played a pretty damn good game. We controlled the play for most of the game. They got a lucky break on the first goal and then a stupid pinch by Gunnarson (who I haven't been impressed with at all so far) resulted in the 2nd goal. Ryan Miller won the game for the Sabres but those games happen. Goalies can single handedly win games for a team and Miller did it last night.

Return to Toronto Maple Leafs
