The Avs drafted a really GOOD player. But not great and star-level like what the Leafs core is.

With good management, good scouting and good coaching I think the Leafs have a higher chance of being successful than tanking like the Avs did.

The Leafs already have a very good looking core (and they're not even 20 years old yet). They also have the best coach in the league (basically the NHL's version of Gregg Popovich).
