Ironically I just read that Mbappe will be so estatic to have Messi there he will re-up with PSG. I don't see how they fit all that payroll under the "Fair Play" rules.

FFP is a joke anyway.

They can just get rid of it and nothing will change.

Well Man city didn't have a problem with it did they?

Am I the only one who really doesn't care where Messi plays?

Barca lawyers trying to block Messi move to PSG.

https://www.marca.com/en/football/barcelona/2021/08/08/610fec07ca474146668b4581.html

A complaint has been filed with the European Commission in an attempt to prevent Paris Saint-Germain from signing the Argentine.
The complaint, which MARCA have gained exclusive access to, is based on financial facts, and claims that Financial Fair Play should rule PSG out of the running for Messi's signature.

If PSG doesnt trebble this year, their season is a failure.

Anybody think:

1. PSG can now affird Mbappe for another 4-5 seasons?
2. Will he stay now?

Lionel Messi has agreed to sign a two-year contract with an option for a third year with Paris Saint-Germain worth €35 million ($41 million) per year.

Does that number seem a little low to anyone else?

I think it's net (i.e. post-tax). Still lower than I expected, but I imagine there are tonnes of clauses and rights that could earn him more money. And of course we are dealing with PSG here, so who knows what kind of accounting magic they performed.

Of course he'll stay. He wants to win and get paid a lot of money. Where is there a better chance. He'll leave when Messi is finished.

I wouldn't swap Harvey Barnes for him.
