Mbappe Snubs Real Madrid

Post#1 » by Balls Deep » Sat May 21, 2022 8:06 pm

The hottest football/soccer prospect in the world snubs the biggest club in the world and his “dream club” at the last second. Madrid offered a huge transfer fee last year (200 million Euros) that was turned down by PSG, and were expecting he would move on a free transfer this summer since his contract is up.

PSG apparently is offering 1 million Euros a week, huge sign on bonus, and will have a say in player/coach acquisitions etc. This transfer saga has been going on for about 2 years and has finally come to an end.

Personally, I think he’s a snake and just used Madrid for leverage to get insane money from the Arab money powered PSG. I hope he never gets a chance to play for Real. He won’t ever be welcomed.

Feels like a moron to not sign a 10 year deal with weekly rises tied to inflation %. That's video game money.

I mean if there is no salary cap in Europe he should negotiate for anything he wants, has nothing to do with being a snake….especially if he’s staying on the same team (not like Figo from Barca to Madrid, Ashley Cole from Arsenal to Chelsea, etc).

Actually, multiple news outlet now says it's 100 million euros annual salary, and a 300 million euros signing bonus. That's 316 million dollars signing bonus, and 105 million dollars annual salary. That's not all, these are supposed to be after taxes (!) numbers.

Madrid could have made a serious move for Haaland if they knew this earlier, now he’s gone to Man City. They lost out on the two best prospects because of this mess. He also would have made a lot of money at Madrid because if endorsements. The amount of exposure that comes with wearing the white shirt is crazy. Now he’s back to dominating a scrub league. He chose money over greatness.

I wouldn’t believe those numbers, nobody knows yet. This seems more reasonable:

“According to Sky, the PSG offer surpasses the terms of the Real Madrid deal, which included a £110 million ($137 million) signing bonus and £20 million ($25 million) of annual net salary. Sky says that the PSG signing bonus will also be in the region of £100 million ($125 million) with a monthly salary (£4 million / $5 million) that doubles his current PSG pay.“

Seems like a win-win situation to me.
Mbappe managed to get a ton of cash, that is literally an incredible salary.
Madrid avoided signing a player who wasn't going to completely buy in.
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

Not confirmed, but 100 M € a year and 300 M € sign on bonus. So 600 M € over three years. $ 633 millions

And he is not even in his prime

edit: 100 M € a year after taxes. This is even crazier

The salt from the Real fanboys is the best thing to come out of this. So many hilarious sour grapes takes.

Current Ronaldo yes. Prime Ronaldo, no. He’s still just 23 though and is on pace to becoming GOAT. Deciding to stay in a weaker league for money probably knocks him off that path though sadly

At the same age, yes. If you mean Cristiano, and not the Brazilian Ronaldo that is.

lmao. Real Madrid know what game they are playing and there’s always a risk. Maybe they should have been more brave and went after Haaland anyway and gave up on the pursuit of Mbappe.

How when he was set to sign until literally yesterday? That’s when word started to get out he was staying. He was supposed to announce his decision tomorrow, but just did it today. It was too late lol.
