Klinsmann to coach Bayern Munich

Post#1 » by Slava » Fri Jan 11, 2008 10:57 pm

Kilnsmann to replace Hitzfeld

Nice move for Jurgen Klinsmann and a great club to go to. I have been a big fan of his coaching since the world cup days and hope he can get Bayern back to being the best team in Germany.

why not ? You may doubt he will do good, but the only coaching job he did so far he exceeded expectations, which was pretty hard to begin with considering he coached a team on it

i agree with turco.

of course he exceeded expectations, but he had to, they were playing at home, germany a historical great team had to have a good WC.

but coaching a club is very different from a national team, here you are playing week after week and the way to prepare for the games are a whole lot different.

so, lets see how he does.

^exactly what i was thinking.

props to him for (expected)success in world cup but his performance there doesnt tell me much about what he would bring to bayern munich. And club that has a stature like Bayern Munich shouldnt really take a chance on a coach that doesnt even have assitant manager/first team coach experience at a club level.

Anyways, like i said, i loved him as a player and i ll be rooting for his success but i d be tad skeptical if i was a Bayern Munich fan.

I'm not convinced by Klinsmann. Far from it in fact but he def has landed himself a plum job there especially with the squad they currently have considering the league they are in.

Should be interesting times ahead ... I think the UCL is where he will really get assessed. They didn't spend millions just to get back into the UCL. They want to make a splash when they get back in there.

He's an offensive minded coach and a straight talker and he has an excellent knowledge of the game. I'd say he's one of the best young coaches available and Bayern can really build a team for a decade if they can find success with him.

Could be either a supremely good or supremely crappy signing. Here my evaluation of Klinsi:

PLUS
Immensely high respect from everybody NOT related to Bayern
Straight talker, does not take s*** from anybody
Has cojones, dared to bench Oliver Kahn and throw out Christian W

I'm disappointed Klinsmann didn't join the US national team as coach.
