Phoenix' GM said he's a 5 in the NBA. I'd guess that's where he'll play for them then.

This has to be one of the better strategic moves by his agent for sure.

He comes out and says he ll play in Phoenix, he only works for them, gets close to the players...plays the local boy card and basically twists the arm of general management in sense of.

You either take me or be extremely accountable if

a) I am great but not on your team
b) Pick you choose is not as great as I am

and to top it off, him coming out saying how he is the best.

Great move, but "ugly" I liked the guy before, dislike him now.

Dude clearly wants to be the first pick, not just go to Suns, which he confirmed when he was asked If he would pick Suns even if they would have 3rd pick and not first.

Let’s say you are correct. A guy makes a smart business move and you dislike him? Ok. Makes sense.

It was so good, he is going to be the number 1 pick in a great draft. And he didn’t even have to guard the chair.

A lot of people make good business move. I dont dispute their move being good, rather their personality/approach. So yeah I dislike this and him because of him or if I would put it in correct words, my first impressions of Ayton as a person are not exactly stellar. Him as a player are not questioned, but he did put some extra "weight" on him just now, if he doesnt deliever or he aint the best its gonna be a bit lol after all the bragging.

You just dislike him. Don’t kid yourself into making a lame excuse. Be the person you are saying he isn’t....honest.

Phoenix' GM said he's a 5 in the NBA. I'd guess that's where he'll play for them then.

The media also asked him what position he'd prefer to play and he said something along the lines of "I'm a basketball player. I will do whatever the coach asks of me." I liked that he didn't go back to saying he wanted to play the 4.

He actually did not say he is the best. He actually stated he wouldn't say he is the best player, but that he is the best competitor.

Works out well for him. He played college in Arizona so he's familiar with the area and the people there already love him. Plus, Scottsdale is awesome. I dibble dabble there a few times a year.

They could want whatever they want, doesn’t mean he wants to defend the interior, bang with bigs or attack in the post. Ayton is going to play the Way he wants to play and he likes to play away from the basket on both sides of the ball.

Just passing along what he said. I cannot accurately predict what he might be able to do at the next level. I would guess he is a strong rebounder and efficient scorer. Beyond that it's tough to know given his lack of instincts/quick decision making on the defensive side. Not sure how much coaching can improve those things.

Its cool. Everybody has their thing. I just think to go from liking to not liking a 19 year old kid for trying to answer questions in that format, as honest as possible at the same time choosing the right words to not come off as pompous or arrogant when talking about himself on the fly and possibly not saying everything 100 percent on point with what you think he should say is a little harsh.

The best orators have speech proof readers and they still make mistakes with words. I am bias of course, but he seems genuine and likable to me. He said everything with an ah shucks type of attitude IMO. But again, I am bias.
