2ND Q: SPURS 53 WOLVES 46

Impressive 31-21 Q on the foundation of solid D, man and team. Fewer drives through our paint, good seal up of lanes with help D, better rotations, and close outs. We're not quite at the level of anticipating passes so well that we get to the spot as the ball does, but it's refreshing to see that we are getting stops and fighting for rebounds.

We are 32-24 PITP which is terrific though only 4-8FTs for our efforts, both need to be higher. We put them on the line for 10-12FTs but crucially their two bigs are in some foul trouble which in turn has opened up the paint all the more.

Pace - we have 53FGAs to their 39 - terrific. We locked in on D and rebounding fights (down 25-24 overall but lead 7-2 on O boards).

Clean game - only 3TOs by the half is excellent.

We are only 5-18 from 3 so those PITP and 2s are valuable, as well as getting fouls consistently going forward. We have to be careful about giving up open 3s. They are only 4-20 but you can see we got a bit comfortable leaving these open and we shouldn't - some wonky rotations gave these up with nobody running out, basically staying in the paint to try to get the rebound, which we've done well, but we have to make the shots more difficult.

Wemby is only 2-7 and Cedi has bizarrely yet to even take a shot! Yet we lead. Wemby's presence gravitates attention and he and Cedi has gotten to the FT line 4 times each.

Doug has stepped up - terrific 3s shooting, Zach has stepped up - terrific clean up, KJ has stepped up - terrific physicality and patience and finish on drives, Dev has stepped up - balanced inside-out game, and Tre has stepped up - drives are terrific keeping defenders off balance.

We have to change our patterns now - the 3RD Q and 4TH Q after that have to be energy-filled, detail oriented, and keep our momentum going. Get more physical, stay clean, keep pushing at them.

Its amazing how much we dont involve Wemby at all in the offense. Then when someone finally passes it to him its a bounce pass in traffic.

That was Cedi's FIRST 3 attempt - the 6:20 mark of the 3RD Q. Terrific passing tonight, but we have to get him more involved on O, Wemby, too, though he's been erratic finishing. We can and have to clean it up.

Also don't get how terrific Zach looked in the first half and looks like he has two left feet and no energy in the second half.

Zach playing smaller than his size repeatedly missing bunnies. Happens to all players but would be nice to see an adjustment rather than doing the same thing over and over.

3RD Q: SPURS 71 WOLVES 71

Don't know who we think we are, or why we come out leaving our brains in the locker room, but Devin seems to have found his and on the back of his stellar 3RD Q we went from up 7, to down 7, to tied.

18 points is nothing to cheer at, neither is 1-7 from 3, neither are the 4TOs, but the fight back in the second half of the Q and more as the Q progressed gives us momentum going into the final 12.

PHYSICAL, ENERGETIC, SMART, CLEAN TO WIN THE Q.
