So we can expect a Bazley extension too.

I sign 44/4, but maybe they give him +60/4

We should not extend Bazley - he is straight up bad.

I’m fine with this but Sam just doesn’t want to break anyone’s heart.

Don't want to extend Bazley and don't think we will. Let's see what happens next season.

Good move to extend Williams at a team-friendly deal. WIll be easily movable in a year or two if they need to.

I have been debating who I would keep on the final roster and I have come up with this list:

The No-Brainer's
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Josh Giddey
Chet Holmgren
Lu Dort
Kenrich Williams
Jalen Williams (J-Dub)
Ousmane Dieng
Tre Mann

Likely to Keep
Alekesej Pokusevski
Aaron Wiggins
Mike Muscala
Jeremiah Robinson-Earl
Jaylin Williams (J-Will)

The Leftovers
Vit Krejci
Darius Bazely

2-Way Players
Lindy Waters
Eugene Omoruyi

Gone
JaMychal Green - Hopefully Presti can get some asset for him even if it's super small.
Derrick Favors - I can understand keeping him around as a vet presence and take some hits for Chet, but I would want all of the young guys to get as much playing time as possible.
Theo Maledon - If NBA teams had 16 roster spots, he would take up the last one. But, I believe more in Bazely figuring out his game instead of Maledon. I just don't believe Maledon will become a reliable facilitator or a 3pt shooter. I do realize that this leaves a hole at PG for the 2nd unit but I believe J-dub will grow into more of a ball handler role with the 2nd unit.
Ty Jerome - Trade him for a bag of peanuts at this point. Easily to forget that he is still on the team.

Very unlikely, I think we are more likely to lose close games than win them .

It’s just a growing pain type of things .

Will need 2 others to step up other than SGA if we are in with a shot to make the play in .

The only issue with Favors & Green is if we cut them we then have about $50 million in Dead money and have no way to acquire a guy on big money salary since we won’t have any matching salary to go out the door.

Fair point , but if you keep 1 of the 2 it’s just MLE range of matching and not a potential star . We are better off developing our own picks to see who can grow .

Flip side is those on the roster can’t really grow if they don’t get the minutes .

That’s an instant bad contract with what he has shown thus far .

33/3 or 44/4 is MLE money or minus

is a good contract for us

https://pistonpowered.com/2022/07/01/marvin-bagley-iii-contract-detroit-pistons/

Marvin Bagley III's deal with the Pistons is three years, $37.5 million with no options.

similar deal for a similar player

If he comes somehow with a 35% 3pt that price would rise a lot.

they can compete for 10th spot with around 33/35 wins

Its very open

Blazers-Mavs 8-9

OKC-Kings-LA 10-11-12

Spurs-Rockets-Utah likely bottom 3

And one team almost always fell off from playoff contention by injuries.

We don’t have to resign everyone that come off the rookie scale contract.

Have he shown enough thus far for me to extend ? Probably not
Could he still go somewhere else and make good ? Probably yes
If I do a take chance extension it’s probably closer to Kenrich money which he definitely shouldn’t be signing as of today. Have to bet on himself that he can get more .
