2022 Summer League Thread - Beginning of the Chet Era

Post#1 » by Dadouv47 » Sat Jul 2, 2022 9:12 pm

Summer league coming soon!

Hope we can enjoy the most of our new rookies and sophomores.

I saw teams posting their G League rosters but couldn't find ours :(

Looking forward to seeing how this group of rookies compare to last year's. If I had to do a quick rank on projection....

1) Chet
2) Giddey
3) Mann
4) JDub
5) Dieng
6) Wiggins
7) JWill
8) JRE

Think all 8 can be rotation players on a contender.

I hope you right but we are likely gonna have some bust in the process.

The most important is to find another legit all star option (Chet) and 2-3 legit good NBA players amongst those guys.

If we have a future all star/max player in Chet and 2-3 very good starters in Giddey/Mann/JDub, we have a team !

at the moment the player i'm most eager to watch is Giddey. been reviewing some of his 21/22 tape and man... if the Thunder's team eFG improves a bit this guy is going to be a phenomenal sophomore. looking forward to him sharpening his ball handling, defense and finishing at the rim and on floaters.

no expectation of him to have treatening pull ups or step backs, if he comes back improved on that would be cool, but from what i see, if the Thunder improves team shot making and he sharpening the things he's already good, he can be a MIP type of guy.

also props to Mike D, he really put Giddey on optimal spots to perform.

Poku would be inbetween JDub and Dieng. Still think he can be something.

Hope we get the rosters today at least. Sad we can't see Giddey in Vegas but can't wait to see Chet matchup against the other two top 3 picks.

No Giddey/Poku in Vegas and no rookies in Utah so we won't see any Chet/Giddey or Chet/Poku line up :(

I thought they wrapped or would be wrapping in time for him to play?

don't know much more than this tbh. Gotta think Presti was fine with him playing with France...Maledon wouldn't risk his contract otherwise.

btw Chet listed at 7.1 now...and Poku is still super skinny. Hope Chet will be able to put more weight than him.

How is it even possible for Poku to have not gained any weight?

He either isn’t eating enough or has some hormonal issue that doesn’t allow him to put on muscle.

Maybe they haven’t updated the weights since last season though.

i was thinking that too, but i compared giddey's and mann's weight from the roster to that summer league roster pic and it's different.
