Re: 2012 Olympics: Closing Ceremony Thread
The Olympics are coming to a close in a few days so I just wanted to say thank you for coming to this forum and taking part in the discussions.
In two weeks with just a bit of simple promotion you guys have really transformed this forum. Only four of the Olympic threads went unused this year which is really impressive.
I hope you have enjoyed the Olympics and I hope chatting here has added to that enjoyment in some way.
If we can do anything to make this forum better for future games please let us know.
Thanks again.

Depressing that it's ending. Such an amazing two weeks here in London. Had time off work, went to 14 basketball games, and had the rest of it on TV all day.
I'm gonna miss the excitement of hosting and having the games on my doorstep.
Boo!

Anyone got a price tag for the closing ceremony? The opening one definitely surprised me.

Category AA- £1,500.00
Category A- £995.00
Category B- £655.00
Category C- £150.00
Category D- 20.12
And that's British pounds, not dollars.

Prepare yourselves for a Spice Girls reunion.
I'm hoping for a wonderful send-off for what has been a truly remarkable Olympic Games. I hope it has sent a big middle finger to FIFA who gave our world cup bid barely any votes. This nation is sport crazy and are capable of putting on a show for the world with the level of enthusiasm and vigour that is hard to match.
Congratulations to the athletes, the fans, the volunteers, the media and to London for providing us with memories for a lifetime. Now we just need one last big sendoff. I dearly hope I get to see another global sporting occasion here again in my lifetime as it has been an incredibly special two weeks.

As a German who witnessed the 2006 soccer World Cup at home, I can perfectly second your words Now one last hurrah, these games were amazing.

"Prince HENRY of Wales"?! I know it is correct, but it sounds so odd!

They better sing '2 become 1'. Actually love that tune..

Strange, seems like only the other day I was here posting in the opening ceremony thread. Two weeks has flew by, and boy has it been an amazing two weeks in London.

According to the official program, there will be 75 min of nonstop UK music. Let's see if I can get at least a third of all artists correct.

Thanks Recently famous boy band? Not my thing, but I guess they've got to appeal to the generations. Love the choreography. It would be cool to see it with a zoomed out shot for full effect.
