Poor poor Venezuela. This could get ugly fast

Serbia vs Australia should be a fun one
USA Celtics in full effect. Amazing chemistry building experience right there for the main core of the team

Proceeds to finish 7th and shames the entire nation!

Just look at their competition in Asia... It's pathetic. Thankfully FIBA included Aussie and New Zealand into their qualifying region starting next year, so we probably won't be seeing China in the 2020 olympics, unless they generate some worthy talent.

As big as the talent gap is in men's bball... It's even bigger on the women's side. Yikes. The women's team USA roster is basically a recap of all the HoF players in the last 15 years

I tried watching women's basketball (WNBA, college, olympics) a few times. Probably the most least entertaining women's sport on the planet. The only reason it is still an event in the olympics is because the men's competition is full of high profile stars. There has even been recent talk about removing basketball completely from the olympics. I'm willing to guess that if it wasn't for the 92 dream team, that started this trend of NBA superstars playing for team USA, basketball would have long been removed by the IOC.

Have to admit Women's Soccer is leaps and bounds ahead of Women's ball

Beting odds, Serbia 1.40 against Australia's 3.00. 3.00 is pretty good bet.

I don't think that Basketball is in any real danger of being removed from the Olympic Games. Even without the NBA players it is a high-profile event

Delly being MVP :)

And Bogut can shoot a 3-pointer apparently, he did a total of 2 of those for GSW (with 100% success).

Bogut is really good. And yes, its not the first time I see him shoot FIBA 3s. Back when the FIBA 3 point line was shorter, he was shooting a number of those.

If you watched him play for the Bucks, you would know. Some players just fit way better within FIBA rules. Just like some successful NBA players are terrible in these tournaments.

Some guys just look much better when they play for their country. Kalnietis, Raduljica...
