just when i woke up i saw the fight between the croatian and the samoan with the first knocking out the second.

i hope the mexicans do well, historically boxing has always being a strong sport for us in the olympics, but in recent years the fighters haven't been either that lucky or not very well prepared.

The scoring favors the Europeans. I swear they don't give any points at all for clean shots. They don't even count body shots it seems.

yeah, pretty weird scoring. i recall that during athens there was a fight involving a mexican that he had clean shots and didn't count them and then they explained that it depends on i don't remember what to count it completely.

Anyone know what time (pacific time) they will show the boxer from East LA that comes from a Mexican background?

My mom wants to see him fight, but we have no idea what time he'll be fighting. he fights today though.

Boxing sucks.. Track and Field is probably the best sport in the Olympics.

Yeah, Rasho, no points for body shots and no guage of how effective a punch is. It simply needs to touch the head.

The scoring, coupled with the advantage given to Cuba where there is no professional boxing...not too impressive an event.

Bloodfart?

Boxing doesn't suck, I just don't think it's as good as Field and Hockey, but seriously, I want team USA to get any medal they can from any sport so hopefully they can get Boxing.

With all the doping that goes on... I personally think otherwise.

track and field was for many years the #1 sport, but like rasho says with all the doping during the last years it's lost some of it's value and spirit.

oh, and the bloodfart comment isn't needed and welcomed.

Yep. She's a huge sports fan. Shes the one that introduced me to the Lakers. She was born in Mexico and lived in East LA for a while.

I dont see anything wrong with that.

Ah, yeah you're right. I'm just drunk. By any chance would you have the name of the Boxer? It would be easier to find.

I don't normally watch too much boxing, but I loved seeing the fight of Alexis Vastine and Jaoid Chiguer.
