BaNT: Round 1

Post#1 » by The Sixth Man » Sun Dec 28, 2008 2:17 am

A LIST OF ALL PLAYERS SELECTED SO FAR CAN BE FOUND AT THE FOLLOWING LINK:

http://www.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=340&t=865840

Remember, you can pick any player in the NBA, trades are allowed, and you are attempting to draft the best team for this season.

You have until the time listed to post your pick for this round. Feel free, however, to make your selection before the deadline. ALL TIMES ARE LISTED IN THE EASTERN TIME ZONE.

If you wish, you may e-mail a list of player rankings (in case you won't be able to make your pick in time) to the following e-mail address:

draft_game@yahoo.com

If you fail to make a pick by your deadline, I'll have to find a replacement owner. That's only for the first round, though. This is because I don't want to wait on someone only to realize they don't even check the boards anymore or know they're in the draft. After Round 1, I'll know that everyone knows they're in this.

Here is the order for Round 1:

ShaqSux (1): LeBron James
amb1ent (2): Chris Paul
The Sixth Man: Honolulu High-Tops (13): Dwyane Wade
CellarDoor: Darkonian Bunnies (4): Tim Duncan
Mascot: Toronto Craptors (5): Kobe Bryant
sterncohen: Fairmount Follies (6): Dwight Howard
SportsFan215: Team LA (7): Kevin Garnett
76ersAreMe (8): Amar'e Stoudemire
r0cd0gg: Team Detroit (9): Chris Bosh
ROYMVP: Portland Rain (10): Brandon Roy
bryant08: Urine Trouble (11): Yao Ming
nba_addict (12): Deron Williams
Gremz: Gremzville Fighting Iguanas (3): Carmelo Anthony
VintaGe36: Las Vegas Anamaniacs (14): Paul Pierce
dcash4: Smillstown Homers (15): Dirk Nowitzki
dchess: The French Butt Pirates (16): Joe Johnson

Round 1: 1-2-13-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12-3-14-15-16

Is anyone with a top five or so pick interested in trading it and a later pick for my first two picks?

I have the 13th pick in this round and the 4th pick next round.

Why are you not on aim right now?

Wow, I got the first pick. Awesome. Hmmmm, who do I select. This is such a hard choice.

No it isn't.

With the first pick in the inaugural _______ draft the San Juan Chupacabras select Lebron James.

amb1ent was supposed to pick by now, but, I'll admit, I didn't get up early enough to edit the title, so I'm going to push everyone's deadline back a few hours. Please note that this is not usually going to happen, so try to get your picks in on time.

BTW, if someone does indeed miss their pick (in this round, that is), there are a few possibilities. I see too main choices.

Either:

1) Find a replacement owner ASAP and give them the slot previously assigned to the other poster.

or:

2) Move everyone up one slot in the draft and move that owner to 16.

Thoughts?

I'm leaning towards option 1.

In later rounds, if someone misses their pick, we'll simply have multiple people on the clock at the same time. But, if we did that in the first round, and that person ended up being totally inactive, whoever replaced them would be at a big disadvantage.

After giving up a lot to get the #3 pick, I select Dwyane Wade! He is a great player to build around.

As per my list, the Darkonian Bunnies are happy to bring in who they feel gives any team the best chance at a title THIS YEAR.

Timmah Duncan.

As much as I hate him right now, I have to go with Kevin Garnett to Team LA with the 7th pick. Though, I will entertain any trade proposals for him or my future picks. My e-mail is theultimategm215@yahoo.com

Team Name: Portland Rain

I know this looks like a Homer pick, but the 2 guard drops off alot quicker than any other position.

With the 10th pick I select Brandon Roy.
