looks good

disagree on some stuff (think Herro/Dort/Grimes still too low), but no major qualms.

and say what u will about the top of this draft, it's actually a quite deep crop.

Still a bit of a rough list, not necessarily indicative of in's/out's, 2nd round also lacking a few names (Claxton, Queta, Zoosman, Matthews, Agbaji some notable names) I haven't seen enough of yet, but I gave it a sahke up to more accurately reflect how I feel about the prospects in that range.

Moved Morant up to 2 over RJ, could've moved Culver to 3 as well but that's too on the fence for me right now. And from there, the rest of that lottery, and to a large extent that 1st round, becomes a complete crapshoot imo.

This is going to be a bit of a rough list, just came back from 2 weeks + of holiday, so I haven't thought/watched/read about these guys for a while, so maybe this is a bit off, but just my instinctive changes having a fresh look at it all. Probably not up to date on the in's and out's, but my understanding is Tre and Jalen Smith are going back so they're out.

I think if he stays in Keldon Johnson could go higher than most mocks are projecting him, based on his transition game alone

i feel like a lot of scouts/execs are higher on Keldon than a lot of people here, including where I have him myself. I wouldn't be surprised if he's a lotto pick tbh.

btw, he (and Herro) confirmed that he's staying in the draft after what he heard from the advisory committee.

I like Keldon, and I do think he could go higher than this, wouldn't be surprised to see lottery. Him dropping to 21 on my latest board had less to do with him than it had to do with the other movers, imo. He's a solid well-rounded prospect.

PerkinsFor3 wrote:Thoughts on William McDowell-White?

I honestly haven't seen a lot of him. From what I have, I like him, but I find it kind of hard to evaluate his NBA translation compared to some of these NCAA guys. Obviously him barely playing for the last year doesn't help that. He's got good size for a PG, and supposedly a very good feel (makes guys around him better). I have seen some criticisms of his shooting ability in the past, but I think his projection is pretty positive based on the footage I've watched.

I think the big question will be how physically limited he'll be in the NBA. It was before my time, but is father was supposed to be a high level athlete in the Aus. Football league, and I find him to be relatively quick with solid size (frame wise). He only has a 6'5 wingspan though, and isn't an elite athlete or anything, so I wonder whether he'll be a little bit physically minimized on offense and his impact will be minimized defensively due to his physical limitations.

But there is some good stats in his favor - 2.8 A/TO ratio, 10.2% total rebound %, and a 3.4% steal rate (found off a YT scouting video in 2018 I just watched), are encouraging.

There's definitely an upside sell of him as a big, 2 way PG who can play on or off the ball and make smart decisions. He's a well rounded, high IQ player.

It's pretty unreasonable comparison to make, but as an Aussie, I think to compare him to Dellevadova and what similarities/differences there are. I think WMW is a better athlete, and slightly bigger, I think he's a bit more dynamic as a shooter/handler, I would say a better rebounder.. but Delly is a much more proven shooting threat (if only a spot up guy) with a career 38% mark, he's also a good feel guy (though passing is limited by lack of creation skills/on-ball scoring threat), and of course Delly, in the times he's proven most valuable in his NBA career, has been an impact defensive pest and monster hustle/intangible guy.

What I would be concerned about is that WMW hasn't really had the opportunity for us to see him produce against good competition. He's not a proven, productive prospect, and without top end physical tools to objectively identify, makes him a bit scary to translate, for me at least.

So right now, he's out of my top 60, but I definitely think he is draftable. It sounds like some teams like him and I could see him being picked up. But as far as 2nd round PG's go, I think I would lean towards guys like Pickett, X.Johnson, Ponds, Edwards, Haliburton, etc. over him.

There's 4 Australians in this draft now - Kouat Noi (well, he's opted to pursue pro ball over TCU, I'm not sure if that means he's 'declared' per se, and my understanding is he's signing in the Aus. NBL for the upcoming season, but I think he's as good a prospect as any of the group I'm listing right now), William McDowell-White, Matur Maker, and Harry Froling. My opinion is that they're all unlikely to be picked, but should all be in legitimate consideration for selection in the 2nd half of 2nd round. Australia's had a good track record of fringe guys cracking the league and overachieving lately as well, so they definitely deserve a chance in the league.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts Gimme. Highly valued.

I liked the footage I saw from WMW, he somewhat reminds me of Satoransky as well.

Early feel I think, given he's been out for a while and everything, is late 30's or so. I like him.

He’s Darius garland except a euro. Everyone is scared to try that.

Except Danny Ainge. He sees himself and drafts him late teens

If you're low on Garland and high on Zagars I can get the comparison as both mid-1st guys. I don't *like* Garland as high as I've put him, that range just sucks, I do think he's a bit overrated.

But in comparison to Zagars, I think Garland is a more dynamic shot-maker/creator. Zagars can shoot, but I see him as a more pure point with a more balanced offensive game.

Moved White up, Doumbouya up (I get the 'project/2nd contract' argument but I've come full circle and I'm pretty high on his long term potential right now), Herro up, Keldon down a little (still think he'll be solid), swapped Zagars in for Pickett because I'm assuming he goes back, Ponds down a little, than some other small additions like Nwora, Hoard, Toppin (like him), etc.

I feel like McDowell-White and Obiesie should probably crack the top 60 somewhere but I don't see over who right now. I'm sure someone will like them over the more 'suck at the moment but some theoretical upside' guys like Shittu, Hoard, etc. guys. Also Samanic probably deserves to be higher in the 2nd I think but I'm going to leave him there for now. I think Brian Bowen deserves a look in as well, Obiesie too, and Kouat Noi.
