Post#1 » by EvanZ » Sat Dec 22, 2018 4:41 am

Starting to gain some focus:

  1. Zion
  2. Culver
  3. Jontay
  4. RJ
  5. Garland
  6. Ja
  7. Bol
  8. Grant Williams
  9. Tillie
  10. Cam
  11. Coby
  12. THT
  13. KPJ
  14. Clarke
I was right about 3 point shooting. I expect to be right about Tacko Fall. Some coach will figure out how to use Tacko Fall. This movement towards undersized centers will sweep ng back. Back to the basket scorers will return to the NBA.

Do you have any of the rim-running big archetype reasonably close to making the list (Hayes/Fernando/Gafford)?

Probably those guys are in the next group between 15-25.

You have made the correct inference.

Nice.

Did Jontay's injury change your projection of him at all? Might as well ask the same question for Garland.

Grant, White and Tillie - what sort of players do you see these guys ending up as? Serviceable starters?

Omissions wise, as someone who seems pretty negative on this class, I'm surprised you don't have someone like Hunter, what I would consider a pretty safe pick, in the lottery. Are you not so high on him or did he just not quite make your cut.

Initially, I was concerned about Jontay, but seeing this class I think he's just way more talented than most of these guys. Same for Garland.

Grant, White and Tillie - what sort of players do you see these guys ending up as? Serviceable starters?

I mean yeah, if you get "serviceable starters" out of this Draft you're doing well.

Omissions wise, as someone who seems pretty negative on this class, I'm surprised you don't have someone like Hunter, what I would consider a pretty safe pick, in the lottery. Are you not so high on him or did he just not quite make your cut.

He would probably be 15. I actually am viewing him more as a switchable 4, which is valuable. Wish his passing was a bit better. Clearly, I am partial to passers and shooters (remember I had Huerter #8 in my final big board!).

I think Cam needs to be higher only in dimensions, steals per 100, shooting attempts and FT%, he is huge, can shoot and affects games on D, ceiling isn't really that high, but he is a starting level 2-way wing pretty clearly

Jontay to me is more of a complimentary guy due to lack of size (if he were 7'2 he would be right there as a top3 pick to me)

Not many more qualms there, love the Tillie bump, I really like him, you can almost think about him as a 3 with how mobile he is, exceptional athlete, team oriented guy, tremendous shooter, some guys are gonna finish through him, like the explosive/strong Guards and wings, but that's just the case for most people

Moving Ja up to #2. He's just too good. Moved Grant Williams down a couple notches.

  1. Zion
  2. Ja
  3. Culver
  4. Jontay
  5. RJ
  6. Garland

Porter/Garland are also in my top 5, but I actually like this class unlike EvanZ. I don't see why being hurt should drop their value unless they don't check out medically in the workouts...

I mean honestly you could put any one of those guys starting around 10-12 and I wouldn't have a huge argument. I probably will have very few strong takes in this Draft because it's just a bunch of guys mostly.

Forgot about Ponds. Would probably have him somewhere in that last tier.

not bad overall...few thoughts

personally I don't see what really separates Culver from NAW...I have them pretty much in the same range (11-14).

noticeable emission to me is Grimes, though im a lot higher on him than most people.

love Jontay...for sure a top 5 guy.

Hayes and Romeo have to be in the top 10 IMO.

I'm starting to believe Okpala will be a lottery pick he still remains a deep sleeper for it despite rising some in most mocks from out of nowhere

He's not really been on my radar. Will have to consider where I'd put him. Don't like his A:T ratio, and he's super skinny for a 6'8" guy.
