Re: 2016 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup
On September 8, 2015 the United States Soccer Federation decided to prevent teams that were "majority owned by a higher-level Outdoor Professional League Team" from taking part in the competition.[1] This rule prevented several United Soccer League teams (Bethlehem Steel FC, LA Galaxy II, New York Red Bulls II, Orlando City B, Portland Timbers 2, Real Monarchs, Seattle Sounders FC 2 and Swope Park Rangers) from competing.[2] New York Cosmos Chief Operating Officer Erik Stover stated that eligible New York Cosmos B would not enter as the "the integrity of the tournament is more important".
I wonder how this will effect the tournament. Lots of missing teams, so I'm guessing the brackets will have to be shuffled around for size and what not.

Tournament starts tomorrow, but it won't get real interesting until May 18th.
NASL teams come in June 1st, MLS teams come in June 15th

Hopefully some of the games are streamed. I feel like i love the USOC more than most MLS teams.

I'm looking forward to it too. Going to try and go see a few cheap Red Bull games with the kids. It's a very interesting tournament.

Going completely off topic here, I don't know how long you've had your sig for but props! I'm a big Bright Eyes/Conor Oberst fan. Greatest song writer ever, In my own personal opinion. Anyways...carry on..

Thanks man. I used to listen to him a lot. He's amazing. I've had it a while now. I post mostly in the Celtics forum. So when there was a ton of debate about tanking and losing to get in the lottery for a better pick, or simply trying to win, this was a line that I remembered that subtlety showed where I stand.
