Re: United Soccer League (USL) Discussion Thread
We're ready to build off the success of our inaugural season and defend our title! Our field is being expanded as we speak to about 10,500 (from 8,000), and I think close to 9,000 of them have already been sold as season tickets. It should be a great season with the expansion of USL!

Once this forum opens on March 1st, I'll be sure to reach out to the Sacramento fan base, to let them know they now have a space to talk about the team.
Having 8,000+ season ticket holders is amazing, and that team is only going to get bigger and better.

Maybe not, but I would assume some cross over exists.

Re: United Soccer League (USL) Discussion Thread
I've been following Sac FC daily via google updates. I only watched one game last season, the championship game (only televised game). I was really excited for that game, happy they got the win!
Wasn't always a huge fan of soccer, but I support Sac and the USA NT (ever since the 2010 WC). I also hope to see the MLS develop into a premier league.
I don't watch MLS, but I stay updated in the development of the league, especially with the potential Republic FC expansion.

I'm not sure if you know this, but all USL regular and postseason games are broadcast live and free on youtube. SRFC games are here.

Re: United Soccer League (USL) Discussion Thread
It's hard for people who like basketball and football to like baseball and soccer. My observation anyway. Soccer and basketball are similar sports. Before you say WTF you can't kick in basketball think in terms of plays ran. To overly dumb it down way too much the triangle offense is a staple in soccer. Obviously the scoring part and body parts (hands feet) aren't at all alike but how you move the ball, create space, and defend is similar.

Re: United Soccer League (USL) Discussion Thread
The USL has expanded to 30 clubs, with the most recent announcement including the addition of the Swope Park Rangers KC for 2016. Five teams are joining league action in 2016, and Reno takes the field starting in 2017.
Here is a team-by-team look at the newcomers, along with pertinent information about these organizations (in order of when they officially joined the USL):

I think it's insane how fast the USL is expanding, though maybe they are preparing for losing a team or two to MLS.
Sacramento could easily move up in 2017/18 if their stadium is fully approved.

Hope he never plays soccer in North America again.
