White playmaking guard in the 50-40-90 club who also averages 3 steals a game. Reminds me of a guy that my username is in honor of.

Nikola Topic - 6'6 PG that can pass well.
Ja'Kobe Walter - 6'5 SG that shoots great.
Reed Sheppard -6'4 SG that is an elite shooter.

Seems like most of the prospects in our range are guards.

And we evidently owe our 2nd round pick to Portland.

My guy right now is Colorado’s Cody Williams
6’8 wing who Buffs play at point forward
He is OKC Jalen Williams younger brother

Reed Sheppard is interesting. Shooting speaks for itself but guys like Dean are always going on about how having the smarts and motor to rack up steals translates. Also Cody Williams looks like another Brandon Miller. More of those is a good idea given losing Miles and PJ in consecutive years is a real possibility moving forward.

Cody Williams would be great but isn't he the current favorite to be the #1 pick?

Williams is the guy who has caught my eye as well. I think I seen a few mocks with him as the #1 pick though.

Would be nice to have 2 legit 6'8 wings. Who both can play both multiple positions.

#1 is still completely up in the air. I've seen a range of Sarr, Holland, Topic, Williams, and even Buzelis slotted in at 1.

Which is why the Hornets will win the lottery.

It's not a difficult calculus; Mitch has sacrificed winning in the name of development. The plan was to sit out free agency to preserve floor time for his draft picks. Unfortunately, the eye test says that's not a defensible strategy.

Peripheral factors don't change things much. Working the long game with Miles Bridges may work, it may not. Injuries, illnesses, the police - all affect what happens on the court. But the only true measure of the success of a franchise is the win-loss record.

Yet, losing does have its benefits! This is the year the Hornets get over the hump and capture that first pick. Mitch's been working hard on it for years now.

The timing couldn't be more perfect. In a draft as watered-down as this one is, we're just due.

Reed Sheppard looks like a proper player. If he can keep this run even semi-going, teams will look very stupid if he falls out of the top 10.

He's like the anti Kai Jones. Not a sexy athlete and minus measurables but he knows how to actually play basketball and has great feel and instincts for the game.

It's unbelievable how bad the bottom of the league is this season.

Last year, the worst 5 teams had between a 20 and 40% winning %.

This year that ranges from 8 to 27%.

And this draft isn't even supposed to be that good either. Which means we're getting the #1 pick.

Damn you guys weren't kidding. I just pulled up a mock draft and they have this guy from the G-League named Matas Buzelis going 2nd overall. Dude's averaging 11 ppg on 19% from 3. I already don't trust G-League prospects since they all underperform in big leagues. Now they got this skinny white dude who can't shoot going in the top of the draft. YIKES

Would anyone here actually take Sarr if we got the #1 pick? I'm getting the feeling that most would trade down for someone like Shepard, Walter, Risacher, or Williams, and I am in that camp as well.

Sheppard is my trade down pick.

Even if he's Kyle Korver lite, that's still the best shooter we've had in years.

Reed Shepard is like 6-2 and shoots 4 threes a game in college. Korver was 6-7 and shot 8 threes a game in college. That was during a time when threes weren't even shot like that, they are nothing a like other than being white.

Ja'Kobe Walter looks like the exact kind of two guard we need. Maybe he isn't a franchise savior prospect, but man he would be a perfect fit if he works out.

I'm shocked you rate Holland high considering how you felt about Scoot and G League ignite last year. (I know Holland has 5 inches on Scoot, but the jumper is worrying)

I'm also higher on Holland than most, and think he could be a perfect Miles fill in, but would probably take a swing on him at a 3 or 4th pick.

Point still stands. He shoot's 3's over 50%.

I think he is more a 2/3 at 6-8. Has 3 30 pt games already in gleague at 18 years old. More ppg, more spg, more bpg, more fta per game then Scoot had in his 2nd season in Ignite.

Holland has some shooting concerns, but he has legit size and I think he is a better athlete than Scoot. Scoot never even put 30 in Gleague in 2 full seasons.
