I like Mark Jackson. He's not a bad coach. I personally belive he did most of the hard work before Kerr came in and won. I just don't know if our players want to be preached to. I'm a Christian, but sometimes I don't like to be preached to especially if it come from a place where the guy thinks he's higher in God's favor than the ones he's preaching at, as I believe if we accept Jesus we are all in favor. I can see how a superiority complex type of preaching would wear on the players and for that I say no to Mark, he he strikes me as extremely self righteous.

This, Jackson has a bad reputation for a reason. He's the last person we should want leading this team.

Who is creating the bad reputation?

Seems like the media created that. The players all talked highly of him. I think it was reported he was clashing with the people up top in the Warriors front office. I haven't seen a single player talk down on Mark Jackson.

He seems well respected by his peers.

If we're talking guys like Mark Jackson and Steve Nash, we might as well just keep Cliff

Not sure why.
Mark Jackson has coached 3 years.
including 47 and 51 win seasons
9-10 in playoffs.

Steve Nash is 94-67 as a head coach
7-9 in playoffs.

Cliff is 332-441 and 5-16 in playoffs

Anybody intrigued about JJ Redick?

Guy seems to know his basketball. He is a true student of the game. I think he said his ultimate goal is to be a HC.

Why not give him a shot. Might be the next great HC.

Nah, he has zero coaching experience. He needs to go be an assistant for at least 2-3 years.

It would be good to have someone who is a leader who can command the respect of the players. So many NBA coaches are not empowered by the organization and getting a bunch of 20-25 year old millionaires to put in the level of effort it takes to win is already hard enough.

And by level of effort to win I don't mean we need a coach that runs these guys into the ground. I mean there are sacrifices like showing up to work on time consistently which means not partying all night before. We need a coach who can inspire guys to buy in and isn't afraid to move on from guys who don't. Even if those guys are LeMelo, Brand Miller who ever. If you have a culture where guys get away with whatever you won't win anyway.

Nash was a head coach for 2 seasons?

He also was a consultant for Warriors front office, been involved in front office of Canadian national basketball.

He has been in and around basketball organizations. JJ has a podcast and appears on first take. Their resumes are not anywhere close to same.

He was hired with no coaching experience. Which is what Jmac mentioned with JJ.

Did you think he wanted to go back in time and hire Nash before he had head coaching experience?

I would be good with Nash. Durant, Irving and Harden are toxic human beings and Nash shouldn't be judged on that
I don't support domestic violence. Thanks Miles

I love JJ to death but he might be too analytical if that's even possible. He throws out some analytic **** I've never even heard of before every other day.

We should not be setting expectations on a potentially exciting coach. I would be let down by a cheap option. I want to see more proof of ownership investing in the team. If the new GM interviews JJ Reddick and decides he's the guy, fine.

I'd be fine with Reddick. He's a guy I could see holding players accountable. I think our players would respond to him better than Clifford almost immediately. He has no problem calling out big bone heads like Perkins on bs. We need someone like that. He seems very cerebral as an analyst.

Yeah he seems to hold players accountable. I like how he isn't afraid to call out his peers. Seems like a guy who could change the culture and he's young enough to have the players respect having just retired from the league.

Of course there is a chance it could backfire. I like him though and I'm a UNC fan I always hated JJ. Having watching his podcast and him on TV I have come to respect his basketball knowledge.
