It’s fun to enjoy Hornets basketball again. Now let’s get real and see how they match up against a really quality team (yes the Pacers were a good test but I mean an elite team). I think they will compete, but still…without a healthy Melo and Mark, they will struggle. And that’s OK, as the foundations are there. Well, except for Bertans. He has a good IQ, but 1 of 4 threes each night won’t get it done.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Not sure if it's luck, coincidence, better defense or convergence of all 3, but over the three game winning streak, teams have been shooting just 29.4% (33/112) from 3. That's due to normalize and we'll see some more losses in the near future.

BUT, hard to argue with the renewed energy of this team; definitely seeing some synergy with the crowd these days and that's reason enough to be amped. Still confused why Dallas couldn't get rid of Grant Williams fast enough? Perfect glue guy, his points are a bonus honestly.

It's a shame we couldn't have had this team 25 games ago.

Over the last 3 games, we are shooting over 40% from three. Which makes sense as Mann, Grant, Bertans, Curry and Vasa are 24/64 from deep. Replacing mins of Thor, Ish, PJ, NSj and Leaky. We are just firing up more and making more which is opening up the offense a ton.

Our defense is 3rd best in the league over the last 3 games with 104 def rating, 16 pts better than before. We have the 5th best net rating over that time, so we really have been that good and it's not all that fluky by the small sample size numbers.

3rd is playmaking. Without Melo before our offense was so stagnant running Miller off screens and Miles isos. Since we have added more ball handlers and playmakers with Curry, Micic and Mann to the mix its night and day. And I will say this is Hayward was also a good playmaker when healthy, but he wasn't so we really missed that even more without Terry and Melo.

They traded 3 first round picks for Murray, drafted a backup center 6th overall. Overplayed their hand with John Collins, Deandre Hunter and Capela instead of getting solid value available. Have had 3 coaches in 4 years.

Overall trying to win games with a 6-1 pg as your best player and no other top 50 talents is a tough assignment.

I agree with most of this but I see Okongwu as a solid starter very soon.

Up until the trade deadline I would've been thankful for the ASB to spare me from the pain of watching us play. After this week I'm craving more games.

His career averages are 20 mpg, 8 ppg, 6 rpg... add in he is a 6-8 center and yeah dude was a bad pick at 6.

Miller plays with Wemby tonight, so that should be fun.

He's listed at 6"10 or is that incorrect?

Kind of off topic, but I see several Hornets + NYG fans here. My people!
