Looks like Mitch it is.

I'm okay with it, he had a decent run with LA. Most importantly he consistently came away with a lot of good rotation players in the draft, that's most what I'd like to see him bring to our team.

MJ did not prove me wrong. We had a chance to embrace the future, and we embraced the past. More mediocrity for us.

2023: Miller | 2022: Duren | 2021: Bouknight, Jones | 2020: Ball | 2019: PJ | 2018: MPJ | 2017: Monk | 2016: Damian Jones | 2015: Winslow | 2014: Vonleh, Napier | 2013: McLemore | 2012: MKG | 2011: Knight, Kawhi

I pretty much feel the same, but Mitch isn't the worst choice that could have been made. In some respect he should be better than Cho was.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

God bless his soul. If he can get rid of Batum and MKG while keeping Walker this guy will be a legend.

I figured it would be Kupchak if not Rosas. I’ll withhold having any kind of strong opinion about it for now. I liked a lot of what Kupchak was able to do in LA although I feel like some of that was also Jerry West gifting him players and the Lakers being a hot bed. Being in Charlotte will be a different animal. I understand MJ likely preferred someone that he had a prior relationship with and that’s fine. I’m anticipating seeing what direction we go from here whether we keep Clifford, who do we draft, who and what do we trade, etc.

Neither surprising nor inspiring, but it's fine. A young, innovative mind would've been nice for the future but the more pressing issue is the cap situation. Given that perhaps a more experienced candidate is the correct call.

First the Sham that became Hurney, now this. Kind of reeks of unprofessionalism.

This move is so predictable. I would rather have Rosas or Simon or Eversley. We'll be stuck in mediocrity for the next 5 years or so.

Pretty meh, wanted the Houston dude. This probably means we keep Cliff too.

Dont think they really gave anyone else a shot, they knew they wanted Mitch as soon as Cho got canned.

I like the Houston guy too, but really, there's been open talk about grooming Buzz Peterson for this role long term. Mitch is only going to be doing this for so much longer anyway, but any other move would have meant staying with someone else longer term.

And I really don't know if Mitch is a good sign for Cliff or not.

I knew someone on here agreed with me about the Panthers' "search". I thought it was BOB but it may have been both of you.

If he can somehow get Julius Randle (sign and trade) or Parker from the Bucks and dump some of our trash (Marvin and/or Batum) then he will be a Legend for sure!

I bet the first thing he does is trade Kemba with our luck! :nonono:

He has tested leadership and a network of experienced scouting. Cho had nothing but analytics and that was part of the problem. The last thing this team needs is another robo-experiment, the GM equivalent of Silas who sucked ad coaching this season. It the talent is not right, the methodology means jacksquat.

Don't love, don't hate. Have to assume he'll take it or they wouldn't have gone public with the offer, right?

I'm going to guess at the very least Kupchak has more connections to other NBA GMs than Cho did and that may allow him to make some good trades. He also seems to like to trade draft picks. Just judging from his past, I don't think he's being brought into rebuild but go more all in on what we have, which does concern me. I also wonder if he is going to get rid of Howard since he didn't really shine with the Lakers while he was there.

Cho also had a weak entourage. Mitch has been a GM for years and years. Cho came here a newbie. It was a failed experiment so it's time to stop dicking around.
