Roster Spots

Post#1 » by Lockdown D » Thu Feb 8, 2024 7:03 pm

Who do we cut?

Correct me if I get anything wrong:

-15 spots per roster
-We had Hayward, Lowry, PJ, Melo, Miller, Bridges, Cody, Richards, Bouk, Mark, ISh, Frank, Nick Smith, Thor, McGowens. That makes 15.
-Hayward and PJ out. Mann, Curry, Micic, Bertans, Grant Williams in. So do we need to cut 3?

Grant and Mann for sure stay. I say keep the other 3 too. Curry in clt would be cool. and maybe Bertans and Micic can build some trade value.

Lowry gets bought out. Who are the other 2?

I say Bouk b/c his attitude and we have already given up on him.

For the other cut, I say McGowens. Looks like 25-25 is unguaranteed for him. I guess your other options are Thor and Frank.

Let's see how my crystal ball works.

Who should go: Lowry / Bouknight / Ntilikina
Who realistically, given Clifford loves his losers, should go: Lowry / Ish / McGowens
Who will go, given this team loves bad PR as much as losing: Lowry / Curry / Micic

Probably going to be Lowry via buyout. Rumors are he is heading to Philly.
Bouknight is probably cut. He is playing less than Ish, Bryce and Frank. No reason to keep his contract around anymore.
Last cut is between Ish and Frank. I would assume Frank since he hasn't been playing, but Cliff loves him some French Frank.

Ish at least can play in a pinch, so I would keep him as another strong Vet voice.

Actually I wonder if the Lowry buyout will take a few days, if that is the case we might cut 3 now, then come back and cut Lowry later. Not sure how prepared Mitch is to get that knocked out today, only had weeks to think about it lol

not sure how NSJ is ahead of curry or maybe mann. nsj needs to head back to swarm (assuming curry, mann, micic, cody are healthy)

melo - micic - ish - bailey
cody - curry - mann - nsj
miller - bryce
miles - williams - bertans - thor
mark - nick - mensah

questions -
can bertans play center behind nick?
will curry play?
pecking order of combo guards

Don't let the door hit ya on the way out.

What a complete and total failure that draft was. Both firsts are likely out of the NBA for good before their rookie deals are over, and the second rounder likely isn't too far behind.

NSJr is definitely ahead of Mann and probably Curry too in the depth chart. One's a has-been and the other is a semi-bust

NSjr might benefit with some time in G league to build confidence on his drive.

can we let Ish go back into retirement and hire any centre now to fill in while Mark is out.

Mensah tries hard but he looks like a school kid getting bullied by grown men

Nah, Ish is one of the few positive influences on the team and is one of the few professionals.

Cut Frank or one of the other bums. Keep Ish around

If Frank stays it will be ridiculous, and a direct result of Cliff’s obsession.
