Reid improved from an ok bench big to 6th man of the year. You can't really look at his performance in 2 games these playoffs as some kind of argument for how the Wolves would have fared in the playoffs last year had he played.

They are statistically the 2nd least impressive champion in the last 25 years, after the 06 Heat. They're a fine team, but this was a down year for the top of the league. I like the Suns or Bucks over them if they're healthy, and I wouldn't be shocked by them losing in the 2nd round to the Warriors or Mavs or Lakers (assuming Lebron is healthy).

What stats are you using that makes them the 2nd least impressive champion in the past 25 years?

2nd round out is looking like a solid take right now.

Every single team that won the NBA title never get past the 2nd round since 2019.

2020 Raptors - lost to Celtics in 2nd round
2021 Lakers - lost to Suns in 1st round
2022 Bucks - lost to Celtics in 2nd round
2023 Warriors - lost to Lakers in 2nd round
2024 Nuggets - down 0-2 to Wolves in 2nd Round

Yeh... but Kawhi left, Lakers were hurt, Bucks were missing Middleton and went down in 7 to an equally good team... what's Jokic's excuse?

They got bored beating Lebum they even let him win one to tease and edge him thinking he can be first player to come back from 0-3… beating Lebum is Jokic and Jamal’s championship

Well, it seems like Naz Reid and McDaniels are integral part of the wolf pack, don't you think?

I said it milion times, difference between Wolfes last year and this year in the playoffs is not in Naz and McDaniels. Difference is from group of players they had last year they created team with chemistry this year. KAT missed a lot of games both years, but last year they were play-inn team, this season they were one of the best in the NBA. So, no even with Naz and McDaniels they had no chance against Nuggets last yaer, this season they are one of the best. Why is so hard to understand that team needs chemistry, not just names of players on it?

The Wolves were 3rd in the league in SRS this year, better than the Nuggets. This team came out from the start of the year looking like a whole new team.

Sports is weird, most people seem to have an attention span limited to one year, while the media shouts stuff from 30 years ago. I don't argue this stuff because what's the point, just so weird to see it play out the same every year and seems like either the turnover is so high it's majority new fans every year or people just straight up forget.

Lakers fan jumping in here

0-2 vs the "Not ready" Wolves.

Great thread.

Will never get the 'not ready' thing when they have two 30+ year olds and a 28 year old starting. Conley is almost 'out to pastor'

I said that Nuggets have no chance of repeating, if someone wants to search it they will find it. They got weaker in the summer, it was obvious they had no shot at repeating.

If Murray+KCP were healthy I imagine they'd have a decent chance.

I don’t think any other team could beat them bur Minnie has solved them. It’s really simple - can you take away Jokic’s efficient scoring threat? TWolves can do it. They have an all-time great defense perfectly crafted to make it difficult for Denver to do what it likes to do. Cavs theoretically have the personnel to pose a similar challenge but those bigs are soft.

No excuses, Gobert missed an entire game. Murray and KCP both played every game this post season so they can't be that injured if they haven't missed even one of 7 games played so far. Nuggest were up 3-0 on the Lakers and STILL neither player sat, so injury sounds like total BS as that would be the ideal time to let them rest.

They are both on the injury report, but the Nuggets have no depth so they have to play. Also

KCP Regular Season EPM: +0.7
KCP Post-Season EPM: -3.4

Murray Regular Season EPM: +3.5
Murray Post Season EPM: *-5*

So they are either very hobbled by injuries or they are just playing like they are very hobbled by injuries.
