Lost to the Lakers in RD2
Got Chris Paul
Kept Draymond Green
Got rid of Jordan Poole

Chris Paul & Curry can co exist?

How far can the Warriors go?

Curry will have no problems co-existing with Paul, there's literally nothing to suggest otherwise. They need their defense back and they need a healthy team for the postseason, both of which will be the major concerns this year.

Yea they need a 2nd scorer, Poole is gone & his scoring will be missed. Wiggins didnt have the same impact like he did on 22 Warriors.

Yeah, despite drawing fouls better, his 3 wasn't falling and he wasn't connecting beyond 10 feet in general all that well in 2023. Turnovers and fouls were an issue from his wild play and he wasn't a good defender. Wiggins was basically identical, he just missed a little over half the season and remained inefficient (especially because he's a dog-ass at the line and wasn't even drawing at his usual tepid rate). And he hasn't ever been a good playoff performer in broad strokes, despite us remembering a couple of big plays/games.

We'll see what Paul does. He is a remarkably skillful playmaker, though he tends to play a methodical PnR-spam style of ball which is at odds with the way Golden State usually plays. Apparently it's clicking though, which should be hella fun to watch. I'm excited. I hope they do well, I like the Warriors.

Team looked pretty good in the first preseason game. CP3 looked comfortable

The CP3 situation has got to be one of the more intriguing storylines entering a season in a while. Rarely do we get to see a guy with his stature join a situation like this, I don't know if there really are any parallels in recent history. He could be a high impact player for this team just as easily as he could be a hinderance. Unlocking some guard-guard PnR with Curry though could be a real interesting dynamic if they decide to actually use it.

Yeah it's obviously a big question mark. The thing that keeps giving me hope is just the success that high-IQ passers have historically had on the Steph Warriors - it's the one skill that seems to supercharge in our system (one of the reasons Ben Simmons remains such a fascinating prospect for some fans like myself)

Now if CP3 was 6-8 inches taller, I would feel way better

Guard and guard pick and roll with Curry and paul sounds like something that makes no sense lol

Klay-Steph rub screen has been a part of the Warriors offense for years. Ran one with CP and Steph in the preseason game which led to an open Steph 3

CP3 +22 in his first game ever off the bench

Warriors had the best starting unit in the league last year, could be really hard to beat if that maintains and CP leads an elite bench

Chris Paul is a man I hated for so long, and 3 games into the season, all my hate has completely vanished.

He's the perfect fit for the warriors. High IQ playmakers have always florished in the motion offense. And CP is as high IQ as you can get. He isn't ball hogging, he's not making dumb shots. he's swinging the ball. pushing in transition, finding the open man.

He's doing a great job of both orcestrating the bench mob, and also feeding steph and klay when he plays alongisde them.
Him handling the ball during the crunch time kings game where they were doubling steph was so reassuring.

And so happy klay is finding his groove again.

feeling real good about the dubs this year.

I think they're 3rd favourite for the West and probably 5th favourite for the title, and by a wide margin.

I think this goes to show how portability being used as a talking point against Chris Paul (especially in a modern era sense), when he's fared well and found way to establish value and build chemistry with all sorts of teammates.

Though the notion of Chris Paul being traded to Golden State was funny in real time (perhaps due to the animosity between the two teams), the fit wasn't really too much of a doubt, the fit wasn't ever too much a concern for me.

Doctor MJ going to be on the CP3 bandwagon in the next 3 months.
