There is an inteview by Mark Cuban that basically said he and Ressler worked the deal out themselves. It was known that Luka didn't want to come to Atlanta and the threat was with Memphis or someone trading up to Memphis.

I know I'm probably in the minority at this point, but I still don't see the gulf between the two players as being that wide.

A year ago, Luka was sitting at home, watching the playoffs, as Trae was hitting game winners in the Boston Garden.

Luka's team had the #10 pick, two ball dominant PGs, an ill-fitting roster and a ticking clock because Luka was tired of losing games.

Luka and Trae's situations and success levels are almost identical...

Yes, WCJ brings the toughness we need, and he's an ideal fit.

Luka was always a winner and proved that against the world, but GM's passed on him, even when he was such an obvious choice.

I fail to understand it myself, but hey, the gulf is so big, it trumps the Hawks trading Nique and a 1st for half a year of Danny Manning. Oddly enough, it's so big of a gulf, that it overtakes the number 1 spot for Hawks worst trades ever, yet is only 2nd in sports history behind the Bill Russell trade(another Hawks trade btw). Fortunately, we never traded #3 pick overall, Pau Gasol for 2.5 years of Shareef Abdur-Rahim and 1 game of Rasheed Wallace,

I'd love to get this kid in a Hawks jersey.

Not sure he pairs great with Jalen as he's also a limited 3-pt shooter.

Slo Mo needs to be our #1 target this summer!!!
He can play Center or pF, pair with Onyeka or Jalen.
He's an offensive hub and defensive anchor.
Perfect role player and savvy veteran for this locker room.

We got to find us one of these.

(Tari Eason might be the closest we could get.)

Overheard on NBA Twitter last night:

It's worth noting that the model the T-Wolves have embraced is largely what Travis initially modeled for the Hawks.

Star, scoring guard surround by a defensive anchor (Capela) and a bunch of switchable 6'9" specialists and defenders (Hunter, Reddish, Okongwu, Huerter, Collins, Delon Wright).

Using complete hindsight, this is the guy from the 2019 draft class we should have taken.

Unfortunately for Cam and us, he was unwilling to master the role he was given before moving unto the next thing. He had visions of offensive grandeur that derailed the plan. I remember saying back then, that despite his horrible offensive struggles, it was his defense that was keeping him on the floor. But alas, he wanted to get back to his 'being himself' from his high-school days. :nonono:

Yes, Deni Avdija would solve many of our issues, and be an upgrade to our team. The cat is out of the bag and he's proven his value now. He's probably thr type of player that never misses in practice. Next season will be a huge year for him.

If Washington is interested in Hunter and such I'm down.

I do wonder if WAS would trade Deni and #2 pick for Alex Sarr....

Trae Young gets mentioned on ESPN2 as a possible Laker and the guys go Ewwww. No thanks, he doesn't play defense. It's a tough league when you don't play defense and you're not able to dunk
