I'm waiting for the contract details: Declining scale? How many guaranteed years!

Well, I'll be gobsmacked.

Great deal for us. Good financial security for him.

That knee doesn't seem to be improving at a satisfactory rate; that clearly played a role in his willingness to do this. I'm mostly just impressed he wasn't looking to exit this clown show ASAP.

He becomes a solid trade piece or a great value option off the bench. Either way -- solid move by Landry and KK.

Hopefully it is declining scale per this tweet.
He becomes trade eligible in 6 months, so right before training camp starts. SO he can still be traded.

*I was thinking declining scale might be better, but I'm rethinking it.

If it starts lower than $18 mil this year, better for us next year. Then it rises as the cap rises over the next few years. Hopefully the final year is either non-guaranteed or partial guarantee.

Forget this little Nugget:

Bogdanovic had a $18M player option for next season.

The first year of the extension replaces the option and cannot be less.

Good signing, although his numbers are better than his game this year. I was expecting a little more are something more. Well, of everybody in general.

Solid deal for us.
I was concerned that he would leave us after the season but thankfully that's not the case.

It is a good deal for you guys provided his health is good of course but I do wonder how you guys will address the tax situation. You guys going into the tax or will you be looking to dump salary?
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

I have to believe/want to believe that getting Coach Quin part of that discussion was the Tax. We can't/shouldn't have another situation where we are giving away talent for lesser players to arbitrarily avoid the tax.

I assume that is the case too. But I wonder given John Collins situation and some younger promising guys becoming extension eligible whether they will try to both upgrade the current talent while getting under the tax. Kind of covering up a salary dump with a win now move, that kind of thing.

Onyeka and Bey are the two that are early extentio n eligible to get under the tax.
Ideally you'd want to get upgrades for cheaper and real win now players. Easier said than done.

Exactly how I feel, but like you mentioned, it's much easier said than done.

Bogdan is gonna feast this season in Quin's new offense.

If healthy, Bogdan Bogdan is in for a huge, career year in Quin's offense. I'd actually be in favor of starting him at the 2 or 3.

On Tuesday, Serbia faced off against Lithuania in the first game of the final eight-team tournament portion of the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup. Atlanta Hawks player Bogdan Bogdanovic shined for his native team in the quarterfinal round, helping Serbia topple Lithuania 87-68.

Bogdanovic dropped 21 points, four rebounds and three assists, two steals and no turnovers in the winning effort. Alongside Philadelphia 76er Filip Petrušev who tallied 17 points himself, ‘Bogi’ showed his efficiency and deep range by recording a blistering 9-for-13 (69%) from the field and 7-for-9 (78%) from three.

For Bogdanovic, he enters the fourth year of his Atlanta Hawks career this upcoming season with a fresh four-year extension — the final year a team option. The veteran wing is coming off a season where he started a career-low nine games, averaging 14.0 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists per contest in 2022-23. While ‘Bogi’ looks to be a super substitute at this stage in his NBA career, he’s still proving he can play at the highest level of international competition with his play thus far.
