The more I think about it… Mazzulla will never adjust his game plan to account for the possibly of 23-43 from 3 unless the Heat win 2 more this way. At most he’d sub out Pritchard for a taller Brissett to get a hand in their faces. Highly doubt we see anything different Saturday.

Now that the first wave of venting is over, everyone remember the 2007-2008 Boston Celtics went 7 games to beat the Hawks in the first round on their way to Banner 17.

That is what people seem to be forgetting. I believe that team only lost one home game in the playoffs and that was against the Pistons.

This JB and JT lead team has been notoriously bad at home in the playoffs. Add in Joe seemingly have zero clue how to make adjustments on defense this could be a long series if Miami keeps hitting threes.

Ranking the players by their performances last night:
Top 2: the Jays
3 through at least 8: all Heat.
That’s not a winning formula.

If you gave Jaylen and Jayson 6 of the 20 something shots Jrue and KP got, we would have probably won the game. Heat had nothing for either one but we insisted on giving Pritchard the ball so he could dribble baseline and back for 15 seconds or KP in the post so he could fumble the ball off his knee with Duncan Robinson guarding him.

Jrue is mostly getting what he wants in the paint this series, though he missed several bunnies in G1. Porzingis has to produce more than 1-9 with several turnovers. They tried to get him going the first couple possessions of the 3rd and of course it (somewhat surprisingly?) didn’t work. We spent all season saying he’d make the difference against MIA and that wasn’t what we meant!

As for Pritch, he was trying to make things happen, but the Heat aren’t going to give him baseline drive-layups like the April Wiz and Hornets were. He only burned a couple of possessions doing that and I’m not mad about it.

Yes, each Jay going for 40 in a close win would have been better than the outcome we got. But they’ve been an ensemble team all season and this was the first playoff game where it didn’t work. Recharge and try it again in G3.

You can't compare this group to the 08 team lol. 08 had grit and ba!!s, but this group lacks the passion/heart/mental toughness to weather any storms. Love him or hate em, Mahcuss Smahhhht gave it his all from beginning to the final second of every game..... This group lacks toughness/heart/passion, the playoffs are a different level! time to step it up, yesterdays game felt like a regular season game on our end as the Heat did everything they wanted throughout. You need an experienced vet to call em out bigtime. Instead of trying to make a dollar from every 90 cent you have we should have concentrated on signing one or two end of bench vets who can get in their ears cause the coach is a pussy and the Jays aren’t alpha enough.

He’s playing big minutes anyways lol, just at the wrong times last night. Joe had a brutal game, near zero adjustments.

People all season said “we will go as far as Tatum takes us”, well the team needs to commit to it. It seemed like the offensive hierarchy existed early-mid season, but the last month or two, it’s been pretty equal opportunity. That will beat the meh teams, but the offense needs to be more consistently run through him if we’re going to win a title.

It doesn’t work because Spo takes your best qualities away. He will never let us beat them 2 or 3 times the way we like to beat teams. We are going to have to change up or we might even lose this series.
