Colorado Rockies
BATTING ORDER

1. Willy Taveras, CF:
The speedster had a hot bat this spring, and he finally gets the green light he never had with the Astros.

2. Kazuo Matsui, 2B:
A switch-hitter, Matsui batted .299 against right-handers last season.

3. Garrett Atkins, 3B:
Atkins tied with the Yankees' Derek Jeter with 102 hits after the 2006 All-Star break.

4. Todd Helton, 1B:
Helton's .329 batting average since 2000 is the best in baseball.

5. Matt Holliday, LF:
He has 178 RBIs since the 2005 All-Star break.

6. Brad Hawpe, RF:
Hawpe's 26 outfield assists in 2005-06 are tied for the most in baseball, and he missed two months in '05.

7. Troy Tulowitzki, SS:
He is the second-youngest Rockies Opening Day starter behind Robert Mejia (21 years, 355 days in 1994)

8. Chris Iannetta, C:
The rookie played well enough this spring to force former All-Star Javy Lopez off the roster.

Yay finally baseball season is starting. I cant wait to see how good the Diamondbacks will be this season. I hope the spring training record carries on and the D-backs come out on fire to start out the season.

Is that the line-up Melvin has sayed he is going with? In Sat. game against the Pads he had a line-up with Drew Hudson Tracy Byrnes Jackson Harriston Young Snyder then the pitcher spot. Don't know how much stabilty there is going to be in the lineup.

That liner off Cooks foot got to hurt looks like Hudson tweeked his ankle coming off 1st looks alright though. 3 stright hits to start the game is a good way to start the year.

Slaten and Cruz did a good job there closing out the inning after that lead off single by Helton.

Jose scares the hell out of me when he comes to the mound its like Dr. Jekell and Mr. Hyde. You just never know who your going to get. We got a little of both with the leadoff 2 bagger but then he strikes out the side. Just goes to show you how great he can be.

Good win over all lets hope this is just the start.

Hey DBacks fans, how was Daron Sutton in his first Arizona game?

I'd take Thom Brennaman over him any day of the week. He just seemed sort of clueless and bland. I'm sure he'll be good after a couple weeks.

He kept talking about pitching arm angles all game and giggling at everything Mark Grace said, all the while providing nothing meaningful or entertaining to the broadcast. Never thought I'd actually miss Thom, but he's miles above this dude.

Rough outing for Webby, but Byrnes showed up to save the day

Webb only scored like 5 points for my fantasy team today. Hopefully he can rebound from this start. I'm sure he will.
