Could Daniel Nava just be a late bloomer?

Post#1 » by Dirty Water » Fri Jun 8, 2012 12:13 pm

He has absolutely raked since coming up... and with patience. He has been a revelation in the leadoff spot. Comes up with big hits in the clutch and against good pitchers (ie Verlander). I think he has sperated himself from guys like McDonald and Marlon Byrd when some of these guys may need to be demoted or DFA'd when Crawford, Ellsbury and Ross come back.

Definite spot for him on the team. I mean it has been a small sample size of 100-125 PAs or whatever it is. But people were saying that about Reddick last year and look what he's continued to do.

In other news, Kalish looks good in his rehab so far. We just have a slew of outfielders. Maybe we can make a trade (or to include in a Youk deal) for a starting pitcher.

Problem is that Nava basically did the same thing his last time he got called up then fell down to Nava level. I don't see im as a long term solution, but sure need to ride him while he's productive.
