what are you complaining about? ur pitchings stacked he's no big loss and u also gave up a 23 year old in a ball with a history of arm trouble and is probably at least 2 years away from the big leagues

I'm saying goodbye to Masterson, not complaining at all. Excited about this deal.

Masterson's replaceable and Hagadone's a TJ recoveree with some potential so the Red Sox didn't really give up much. On the other hand, "catcher of the future" is a stretch for V-mart. He's 30 and from the looks of it probably can't catch full-time anymore. But regardless he's a minor offensive upgrade over the likes of Varitek or Lowell or whoever. Pretty decent deal.

Yeah, I didn't mean to sound like I was complaining. I love this deal. Have to wait for more parts to fall, and see what happens, but it's a great deal.

Just saying goodbye to the bald headed bastard :P

I like the deal, wish we could have maybe given up an extra piece or two for AGon or Roy instead, but no complaints.

Wow, sox made out like bandits on this one.

I'm guessing the logical roster move is option Kottaras to AAA because we don't want to carry 3 catchers, then call up Bowden to replace Masterson in the bullpen. Does that sound right?

Fernando Cabrera is the logical choice as the bullpen replacement imo, he's been nasty for Pawtucket this year.

Really like this deal, gives Tito a ton of flexibility with the lineup, hopefully he takes advantage of it.

My preferred lineup, lefty/righty matching up aside:
Ellsbury
Pedroia
Youkilis @ 3rd
Martinez @ 1st
Bay
Ortiz
Drew
Lowrie
Varitek
Lowell's offense will be missed, but his corpse-like defense sure as hell won't. And he's sure to see time against lefties as a dh too most likely.

I like Masterson, but I like Martinez even better. Here comes our catcher of the future!

P.S. Bye LaRoche and hello Kotchman
