NBA Lowers Projection For 24-25 Salary Cap To $141M

The NBA is projecting the 24-25 salary cap to be at $141 million, which is $1 million lower than their previous projection from June 30 of last year.

The salary cap for this season is $136 million.

For 24-25 based on the current projection, the minimum team salary will be $127 million with the luxury tax set at $172 million. The first apron will be at $179 million and the second apron will be at $190 million.

NBA Remains In Talks On Buying Equity Stake In ESPN

The NBA remains in talks to purchase an equity stake in ESPN, sources tell Michael McCarthy of FrontOfficeSports.

The New York Post reported last week that the NFL was in "advanced talks" to purchase a piece of ESPN.

The NBA and ESPN are also in talks on a new media right deal. The league hopes to double its combined rights to $50 billion over nine years. 

Financial analysts believe ESPN would be valued at approximately $24 billion on the open market.
