OG Anunoby, Josh Hart Both On Track To Play In Game 7

May 19, 2024 12:19 PM

The New York Knicks may be healthier than they have been in weeks for Game 7 against the Indiana Pacers on Sunday afternoon. OG Anunoby and Josh Hart are both likely to play in the deciding game in New York.

Anunoby has been out since suffering a hamstring strain in Game 2 of the series on May 8. He's worked tirelessly to be able to play, and now it appears Anunoby will make his return after missing about a week-and-a-half.

Hart had an abdominal strain early in Game 6. He attempted to play through the injury initially, but was ruled out later in the game. Hart has been a key player for New York, playing the entirety of several games during this playoff run.

Jamal Murray Feels 'Great', 'Hungry' For Game 7

May 18, 2024 7:44 PM

Jamal Murray was limited by a right elbow injury during the Denver Nuggets Game 6 blowout loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. The good news for the Nuggets is that the injury doesn't seem to be carrying over to the do-or-die Game 7.

After practice ahead of Game 7 in Denver, Murray stayed late to get up extra shots. Nuggets coach Michael Malone said that Murray "feels great" and that his star guard "looked very hungry today".

"Look like he hadn't eaten in two days," Malone said about Murray. "So hopefully that carries over tomorrow. I hope he doesn't eat until tomorrow until 6:00 p.m."

Gordon Hayward Says Time With Thunder Was 'Disappointing', 'Frustrating'

May 19, 2024 2:12 PM

Gordon Hayward's season didn't end the way he wanted. Hayward struggled to find his place with the Oklahoma City Thunder after a trade deadline deal from the Charlotte Hornets. Hayward owned those struggles in his final meeting with the media for this season, following the Thunder's second-round loss to the Dallas Mavericks.

"Disappointing with how it all kind of worked out. Certainly frustrating," Hayward said about his time with the Thunder.

The veteran wing said he thought his lack of production with Oklahoma City was mostly about his place within the rotation and the team's schemes.

"That’s credit to kinda the role I was placed in and lack of touches," Hayward said when asked about his lack of field goal attempts with Oklahoma City.

Hayward is set to be an unrestricted free agent this summer. The Thunder can create over $30 million in cap space this offseason, while having relatively few roster spots to fill for next season.

Hawks Expected To Make Clint Capela Available Via Trade

May 19, 2024 4:49 PM

The Atlanta Hawks are expected to put center Clint Capela on the trade block this summer. The Hawks have Onyeka Okongwu starting a four-year extension this coming season. Atlanta could also draft big man Alex Sarr with the first overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.

Capela has one season remaining on his contract at $22.3 million for 2024-25. He's also just turned 30 years old, which makes him one of the older players on the Hawks roster.

The Switzerland native averaged 11.5 points, 10.6 rebounds and 1.5 blocks last season. That was Capela's seventh consecutive season averaging a points-rebounds double-double.

Cavs Expected To Sign Evan Mobley To Potential Max Extension

May 19, 2024 10:54 PM

The Cleveland Cavaliers are increasingly expected to sign Evan Mobley to a max contract extension this summer, according to Marc Stein of The Stein Line.

The Cavs are also growing confident of signing Donovan Mitchell to a contract extension.

Mobley's agents reportedly cautioned the Cavs about drafting the player with the third pick of the 2021 NBA Draft.

Should the Cavs succeed in re-signing both Mobley and Mitchell, Jarrett Allen would be a trade target for teams around the league.
