Markieff Morris Suspended Two Games For Throwing Towel At Hornacek

Dec 24, 2015 4:40 PM

The Phoenix Suns have suspended Markieff Morris for two games for throwing a towel at Jeff Hornacek.

The incident occurred during Wednesday's loss to the Denver Nuggets.

Morris said he didn't intend to hit Hornacek and was unaware it had connected.

Morris has sought a trade from the Suns since they traded his brother, Marcus Morris, to the Detroit Pistons.

Morris initially had trade value but waiting has cost the Suns any leverage they once had.

Rockets Finding Minimal Ty Lawson Trade Options

Dec 23, 2015 6:35 PM

The Houston Rockets have attempted to accommodate Ty Lawson with a trade but the market for him as been minimal so far.

The Rockets traded for Lawson in the offseason after several legal issues.

As part of the trade with the Denver Nuggets, Lawson agreed to make his $13.2 million salary for 16-17 fully non-guaranteed.

"The only team that makes sense already has [Rajon] Rondo," an Eastern Conference executive said in reference to the Sacramento Kings. "There's no market."

Lawson previously played for George Karl with the Nuggets.

Bulls Open To Trading Joakim Noah, Taj Gibson For Wing

Dec 23, 2015 2:13 PM

The Chicago Bulls are reportedly willing to trade Joakim Noah or Taj Gibson for a wing.

The Bulls have been without Mike Dunleavy Jr. all season, while Jimmy Butler has struggled somewhat under Fred Hoiberg.

"Executives around the league, and people have told me, that the Bulls are very determined to add a talented wing player," said Wojnarowski during his podcast. "And I’ve been told that the Bulls are open to…whether it’s Joakim Noah, Taj Gibson…maybe not both of them, but either of them if there’s a deal out there that they can bring in the best possible wing player available, they’re open to it… They need more shooting."

Pistons Won't Make Lateral Trade

Dec 21, 2015 12:30 PM

The Detroit Pistons are unlikely to make a significant trade before the deadline unless there is a "clear step up in terms of talent."

Brandon Jennings is nearing a full return and Jodie Meeks is expected back in February.

"Because we like our group," Stan Van Gundy said. "I like the chemistry and character of our group. We won't make lateral moves or marginal moves because continuity is important."

Van Gundy says there's less chatter than in previous seasons.
