He had a major knee injuries he's still recovering from. He'll look different physically in 3 months, and especially in a year.
The Herd are trying to limit his minutes for now, but they've been significantly better defensively with Porter on than off.
With a 9'1" standing reach, and his intelligence, he could develop in to an average NBA defender if his knee ever heals, allowing him to regain mobility.

I worry about Jontay defending in space, but he's always been a good rebounder and shot blocker. His offense is legit.
While not perfect facsimiles, Jontay and Mamu are very similar players.
