We just need all our players to say they like Taylor Swift and they'll be voted in swiftly haha.

Re: NBA All-Star Voting (12/19/23 to 01/20/24)
If the selections were made today, the starting front court is obviously locked: Embiid/Giannis/Tatum.
Among guards, Lillard, Maxey, Brunson, Mitchell, Halliburton and Young each seem very likely to be chosen, although Brunson's NYC advantage in fan voting is relevant really only to selection of the starters.
Beyond those 7 guys, team records would suggest at least 1 more Celtic, plus Banchero.
Everybody else could be on or off based on real or perceived merit.
If we assume a second center, that's likely Porzingis or Bam. Picking Porzingis + Butler actually makes more sense than picking Adebayo + Jaylen.
Embiid, Porzingis
Giannis
Tatum. Banchero
Halliburton, Lillard, Maxey, Brunson, Mitchell, Young
Proceed from there.
Holiday and DWhite probably get screwed.
Jaylen and Jimmy have seemingly better chances.

And by the way -- fan voting hardly matters to Celtics' chances. It only influences the starters, and we already know with near certainty the exact list of Celtics who will be chosen as All-Star starters this season.

As far as I know, no Team has Ever had 5 All-Stars, in the same Season.
Would be nice, on our way to Banner 18.

Difficult for White to make an All Star team:
East Guards:
Tyrese Halliburton
Dame Lillard
Donovan Mitchell
Tyrese Maxey
Jalen Brunson
Trae Young
LaMelo Ball

White is better than half of those guys and he's a better defender than any of them.

If selected, White would probably play defense in the All-Star game.
I doubt the league is ready for such a radical change.

I have long thought that we need 15 guys going to the All-Star Game, from each Conference.
3 of them (at least) should be Defensive Players.
15 Teams per Conf., 15 Players per Team = 15 All-Stars, each Conf.

Re: NBA All-Star Voting (12/19/23 to 01/20/24)
Ya I think you can make a real argument that White is deserving of being an all-star, but I find it hard to believe he's going to make it. Historically all-stars have either averaged a minimum of about 19ppg, have been big name star guys, or were voted in by HUGE fan campaigns.
In the east White is also hurt by it being a pretty good guard crop: Halliburton, Mitchell, Young, Brunson, Maxey, Lillard. That's six guys and there's only 4 guard spots + 2 wildcards. Maybe you can drop Trae Young off due to team struggles, but its still a tough ask. I'm not sure White has the name recognition among coaches to make it in as a reserve (because remember, coaches choose reserves).

Re: NBA All-Star Voting (12/19/23 to 01/20/24)
My Prediction:
G: Maxey
G: Lillard
F: Tatum
F: Embiid
F: Giannis
G: Haliburton
G: Mitchell
F: Brown or KP, my guess is Brown
F: Banchero
F: Butler/Bam
1st Wildcard: Brunson
2nd Wildcard/Injury Replacements/Bubble: Scottie Barnes/Trae Young/Bridges
The best teams usually get two, so all of Phi, Bos, Mil will get two. Our second guy isn't obvious, but KP has missed 7 games already and Brown just made 2nd team all-nba so my guess is coaches go with him on reserves. Just don't think White has the name recognition or reputation amongst NBA coaches. Beyond that Brunson, Haliburton, Mitchell all best players on good not great teams. Banchero gets nod at Forward for same reason. One of Butler or Adebayo for the Heat as well, although Butler has been only "meh" this year and Bam has missed like 10 games. Still, those guys have rep and track record to make it.
That leaves one spot for 9th-11th teams in the conference. Three best players on those teams have been Barnes, Young, and Bridges. So one of them makes it, probably more than one since there's always about 1-2 injury replacement anyway.
None of Washington, Detroit, Charlotte or Chicago are good enough or have a healthy player who's been good enough to make a case imo.

Re: NBA All-Star Voting (12/19/23 to 01/20/24)
We all appreciate how great White has been but 16/5 will not be close to good enough this year’s for all-star team. Not with guys like Halliburton, Mitchell, Garland, Trae, Lonzo, Lillard, Maxey, Brunson. Even Cam Thomas has a better shot.

Re: NBA All-Star Voting (12/19/23 to 01/20/24)
Main thing working against White is he doesn't take enough shots on the team to get the points even if he makes the most of the shots he does take. He's not a traditional PG nor does he have the ball in his hands as much to get the assists ala Lowry, Rondo, or Kidd. Low scorers who make the ASG are usually DPOY type bigs or assist merchants.
It's not impossible but really, really tough. Several things need to go his way.
• Four all-stars from a single team has been done before but Cs have to separate themselves, record-wise. (already unlikely to happen with the way we're managing KP)
• Coaches pick a third all-star from the Celtics and he makes it over KP (if KP misses enough games)
• His scoring average gets up to 19 or 20 ppg (not gonna happen as a 4th option) by the time coaches vote.
• Coaches priortize putting guys from winning teams, look beyond raw stats, and see the two-way impact he has on Cs winning.
• The guards above him miss significant time.
• Injury replacement (but I highly doubt this; commish gonna pick a big name and flashy game)
tldr, he has a better chance at being considered for (not winning) MIP than making the ASG (which might not even matter to him anyway).
