Scouting report is bound to catch up to him eventually.

Maybe CJ McCollum/JJ Redick is his ceiling

Right now would be the perfect time to maximize on his as an asset. I don't know if his stock can get any higher.

He's a modern Starks, for better & worse.

Brunson: So what are you paid to do?
Hart: Run around like an idiot during the game and f*** s*** up!

Yeah, probably at it now. Then again, that won a championship.

Also JB, Hart and DDV beat Embid's higher ranked teams multiple times as I recall. Our core's not going anywhere till we reach the ECF at minimum. 8-)

If he keeps this up, why can't he be the 3pt era's Starks? If this team makes the ECF with Donte keeping this up, kids will remember Starks as the dunking era's DDV :dontknow:

Am I s***ting myself that Donte will regress to the 31% he's shot from 3 in the playoffs previously? Yes, but with the way he's playing atm *shrug*

He’s playing at his ceiling, it’s a great fit as well. He can play off of Brunson and Randle.

He’s shooting really well and I love his hustle, and effort on defense, but Starks was an elite level defender (made all-defensive team and considered in the DPOY running) and had better hops and bigger heart. Plus he was more than just a shooter, he could put the ball on the floor and make plays. He was an All-Star in a tough era.

If you take Hart’s heart, defense, leadership combined with JR’s hops and streaky shooting, and Donte’s hustle and intangibles, you might have Starks. But I’d rather have Starks over all 3 combined. That’s just me.

I'm just proud of the board that no one has given the dismissive "Why not just let him be Donte Divincenzo" answer

It's a good question because no one expected him to be playing at this level.

During this stretch, with the speed, agility, savy and athleticism I see when attacking the rim and dishing....to me he's starting resemble Manu Ginobli. And I know I'll get attacked for saying that :D

What blows my mind about Donte is his career high was only like 24 points before this season.

He’s been going over that with ease lately, and has taken a legit jump as a scorer. He was more of a facilitator as a young’n, but was always a nice all around player, and then his heel injury derailed him before he found his footing again last year with the Warriors.

We stole Donte. Everything he’s doing looks sustainable, and he obviously has great chemistry with Jalen. His jumper is wet as hell with a quick release. He’s a good rebounder, passer, and solid defender. Athletic, tough, and smart. He’s started to hit more on his layups too, so if he sustains that he can be an 18/5/4 player who fits like a glove.

I said it yesterday, but the way Donte is playing recently is like an awesome trade deadline pickup. We’ll see if he can keep it going, but so far so damn good.

Good thread. He seems totally confident and can do a bit of everything.
