Begley answers some injury questions
- Says Knicks aren't saving OG and Julius. As soon as they are healthy, they will play.
- Internal feelings in the org is that Julius will return before the end of the season. Biggest issue now is when Randle feels comfortable that he can play without fear of reinjury.

Thought he’d be back any day, not so sure after seeing this.

There’s another photo where it looks like his normal elbow.

When I fold my arm the muscle by the elbow looks like that...that's why I'm not playing professional pickleball right now...yeeeaaaa...that's why.

Re: The Knicks Injury Report thread.
It's time to discuss Randle's actual value to the team for this season
Knicks record is 44-28
Knicks are 29-17 with Randle, 17-15 without OG games (53.13%)
Knicks are 15-11 without Randle, 12-11 without OG games (52.17%)
So in essence, Randle added <1 win to the squad, which is less than 1% winning difference
Outside of OG injuries, I did not account for other factors so take it for what it's worth

Was anything reported about Mitch's ankle and limping, after the Spurs game?
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

I thought someone here posted it was the other ankle he tweaked not the surgery ankle.

Re: The Knicks Injury Report thread.
I thought the injury to Mitch was his other ankle. It's the same ankle he had surgery on?!?!

Re: The Knicks Injury Report thread.
I wasn't expecting to see Randle until the last handful of games, they want to give him as much time to recoup and strengthen that shoulder. Bringing him a back sooner isn't going to help the Knicks in the grand scheme of things so the time is better spent on his body now.
If the couple additional weeks allows him to survive the playoffs because it's part of the accumulating time to heal when it can have the greatest impact for his body then it may just be worth it. Each day is one more day it can recuperate so I see no reason to fret about it.
He's not coming back until after the Heat game, he and the Knicks aren't afraid of the Heat, but they know that team's reputation. They will target it more than any other team would because that's who they are and why expose him to their shenanigans if they don't have to.
Mitch, gah, that's just rough. It seems like a mild sprain because he was still out there playing on it after. With his original injury not allowing him to stay in shape during recovery so he's out of peak game shape and probably wouldn't have been at any point during the playoffs anyway. It is what it is.
The situation I'm watching closely is OG, he's the key piece in my opinion even more important to the Knicks success than a 100% Randle. He's not the scorer or creator Randle is, sure, but he gives the Knicks size and versatility on both ends of the court that they need in the playoffs.
I really though it would be the OKC game that he'd be back for but maybe I'm just looking at it from the fan point of view of wanting to see him play. Maybe he pushed to play and it was just that his body wasn't ready so they are going to have the same cautious philosophy with him as they are with Randle.
If they are holding these guys out to let them heal in hopes it will preserve their presence in the playoffs I'm really wondering what their plan is in bringing them back. Is it 5 games left? A couple left, or throw them all back together the first game of the playoffs?
I just don't think we don't see them again this season, I would be shocked if neither come back and surprised if one or the other doesn't. I know there are a few vocal members that think we won't, but I'm not going to subscribe to that extremely pessimistic view out of fear of the unknown.
