Re: Celtics 2023-24, Season Thread, (con't)
FUN STAT: In 2021-22, the Celtics started 17-19 then had a record of 34-12 (.739) to end the season. This year's record (.792) is still better than that 2nd half "surge" by the Ime-coached team.
Apart from Timelord towards the end of the 2nd half of that season, Celtics were relatively healthy, missing just 30 games between their top 6 from January 1. This year's top 6 have already missed 69 games.

Some of the missed games this season were from fake injuries.

Just pointing out that some of the missed games this season are from fake injuries.
That 2022 season was all real when it was about health.

No other team in the East is even at 50 wins yet. Not getting to the Finals would be disgraceful

It's amazing how no other Team will even get to 60 Wins this year.

If you're wondering why the Celtics have the highest offensive rating in NBA history (apart from the 3-ball thing)...
Career-highs and 2nd to career-highs in TS% and A/TO for our top 8 players:
Career-high in TS%: Horford, Holiday, Porzingis
Career-high in A/TO: Brown, Tatum
2nd-to-career-high in TS%: White, Brown, Tatum, Hauser
2nd-to-career-high in A/TO: Horford, White, Porzingis
This doesn't happen without good system/coaching. Talent can only take you so far, as we've seen in 2018-19. Caveat being we still have yet to see if this will translate in the postseason.

Celtics just need to win 2 of their final 4 games to take solo 4th best record in franchise history.
This also makes Kristaps Porzingis the top Latvian who's part of the team w/ most wins, a distinction previously held by Davis Bertans, who was a member of the 61-win 2017 Spurs team.

It really hurt us when KG got hurt in 2008-09. We would have Won that year.
I believe that this year we have quite a bit of redundancy and could survive the loss of one.
Let's not find out, though.

Celtics are now 2nd on the list above.
BOS 2024: +7.5 REL_ORTG, -4.6 REL_DRTG, +12.1 REL_NETRTG
One of only three teams all-time (CHI 1996, GSW 2017) with an 11+ net rating AND an 11+ SRS. All-time great REGULAR SEASON team. Four games left.

I wonder what will be done in the offseason for filling the few roles that might be available. I feel like Veterns will be fighting for the chance to play here, especially if we win it all.
PG: Jrue/Pritchard/???
SG: White/???/Springer
SF: Brown/Hauser/Svi?
PF: Tatum/Horford/Brissett or Tillman
C: Kristaps/Kornet/Queta
Bigmen seems locked up, but absolutly have room for a backup guard (assuming Svi is back next season he backs up Hauser)
Should have a pick, vet mins, and a brissett or Tillman trade to bring in thost spots.

J Walsh > Brisset, SVI for sure and probably Springer for me. Still hoping for Brad's first 1st rder ever to join this team.

I fixed it for you
maybe Romeo Langford is available. Kris Dunn no longer is!
there's not really minutes there, since White can slide to 1 and JB to the 2
Add Walsh as 3rd string SF, slide Svi to backup SG maybe (don't care), add a draft pick or my favorite -- perpetually -- leave the 15th roster spot open for $$$ savings for ownership (which is where I think we are right now).
Paul Pierce appreciation society.

I agree, feel like Walsh takes Svi's spot next season as te 3rd SF. Seems like a no brainer there.
leaving a need for
PG: Jrue/Pritchard/???
SG: White/???/Springer
SF: Brown/Hauser/Walsh
PF: Tatum/Horford/Tillman or Brissett (PLayer Option on Brissett, Bird rights on Tillman)
C: Kristaps/Kornet/Queta
a backup SG, a 3rd PG,
Svi has no contract so maybe he can be replaced with either the Grant W TPE (3.9 mill)
or Brissett as possible balast for a deal.
Brissett I cannot see opting out of his contract (2.4 million)
Must be some guys out there in the price range or will be guys in the price range that fit the mold of what we need. And hopefully get some vet guys tht take the minumum to chase a ring
Harris
Trent Jr
Heild
Burkes
Walker 4
Few guys out there....

Grant TPE can't be used. Celtics will be over the second apron.
White | Pritchard | A. Holiday
J. Holiday | J. Holiday | Springer
Brown | Hauser | Walsh
Tatum | Horford | Tillman
Porzingis | Kornet | Queta
Tell Jrue we'll pay his brothers the minimum if he signs a 3-yr 60M extension.

Great accolades for this regular season but if they don't win it all, the season is a failure despite what that clown Giannis thinks
Honestly, the Celtics shouldn't drop more than 3 games before the Finals. They are so far ahead of the pack in the East, it's comical.

We'll cross that miserable, rage-filled bridge if/when we get there. For now, fans can still enjoy the awesomeness, absurdity, and rarity of this Celtics regular season.
