Westbrook next year -- Clipper or no?

Post#1 » by HotRocks34 » Sat May 4, 2024 6:21 pm

Article says Russ might bolt from the Clips this summer and he wasn't happy with the bench role.

Will he return next year?

Even though he's from LA and the new arena opens next year, I think he's gone unless things change.

Dude turns 36 early next season. Not sure what sort of major role he's expecting at this point. I think he reluctantly stays, or maybe to another west coast team.

He might have to settle for the 3 headed Monsters on the Big 3 League.

He's still under contact next season, is he not?

EDIT - nvm I think it's a player option. Maybe he takes Pat Bev's spot in Milwaukee

For their sake, I hope not. He's a disaster of a player, even off the bench.

Not sure what he expects ? Who the hell is gonna start him in 2025 besides maybe a tanking team.

No one has more misplaced, delusional pride than Westbrick, so I think he's gone.

If not for his problems with KD, I could see a role for him in phoenix

Luckily for Clipps fans, I think (and sincerely hope) the FO saw that Westbrook and Harden cannot be on the same team. Only one of them will be back. A giant douche or turd sandwich type of situation

Hopefully not. He was fun to watch at times and seems to be a good teammate but he was useless in the playoffs. Might as well try and move on from him.

Return to OKC and come off the bench. Give some age to the team and cost them minimum dollars.

he doesn't get it.

Hes gonna be Carmelo'd.

Actually thats not even accurate. Melo could still play when he was deemed not worth the headache. Iverson too, somewhat.

Russ...from what we saw of him last...he looks fried. Even off the bench.

Melo probably should have been done after 2014. or at least should have been a low-usage roleplayer as he was in his final season with LA.

No. It was a big mistake giving the offense to harden when they signed him. Westbrook is a better playmaker and that's what the clippers needed. He's a better big game player and harden did what he always does in these playoffs, choke. Westbrook isn't coming back to be backup for a guy he should be starting over.

Hes nothing but a goon, now.

Should be out the league. His talent doesn't match his ego.
