TO this day the best scene in any sports movie for me. The music the characters. Fantastic.

Don't mean to take this too far OT, but I've always found it crazy how Mark Wahlberg's horrible racist past has managed to be forgotten. He did some horrible, horrible things, but most people don't even know about it.

I guess i haven't looked too hard into it but wasn't most of it when he was like 15-17? I did a lot of stupid **** (albeit never racist assaults) when I was that age just based on a small world view and who I hung out with. No idea if he truly changed since then as a person, but I'm willing to look another way on someone's past at that age if growing up in an environment that where everyone around him is a horrible role model. Like i wouldn't hold it against a guy if he was a gang-banger at a young age that assaulted people/hurt people and got out of that environment and changed.

1. A scene from The Natural, when Roy Hobbs hits a ball into the lights--IIRC, it was Hobbs hitting at night but not in a game. Glenn Close, looking down from the stands, dressed in white, is framed in the picture as the lights break into brilliant flashes. Close looks like an angel looking down on the mortal and giving hope. It embodies the myth of baseball and explains why it became the national past time.

Wahlberg has also been open about all that stuff and it was when he was a kid. I don’t like him really but he he paid his debt to society before he became famous.
